Mel:

I don't think we'll agree.

Our viewpoints on stuff is way different..except for INFIDELITY.

So I'll leave it at that.

The soldiers didn't find it to be horrifying. They are PROUD...as you say...

I DID!! That's ME. I am who I am.

Again, I'm certainly NOT ALONE in being OPPOSED to this war.

Well, I am just shocked you found WAR to be "horrifying!" Imagine that!

Do you know what its like BEING A PARENT OF A SOLDIER? A parent of a soldier serving in a TRANSPORATION UNIT inside the GREEN ZONE? the most casualties of any other unit.....

ML,

I speak from experience also. A very close cousin of mine did a 7 month tour in Iraq. His marine reserve unit out of Lima Ohio lost 16 soldiers over a 4 month span. You can tell just by looking into my cousins eyes just what that has done to him. He will never be the person he was before. It is truly sad.

Yes, Want, WAR IS HE11. I think we already know that. There is no such thing as WAR that is like CLUB MED so it is ridiculous to pretend otherwise. But our brave and honorable American soldiers served their country admirably.

I'm like Mimi, horrified by this and every other war.

But I did have the honor of volunteering for 4 months in the ward where the casualties from Fallujah recovered. And I can tell you to a man, they were the bravest young guys I've ever met. Many were badly wounded and all they thought about was getting well enough to go back.

These were mostly young soldiers, 18 to 25. It was inspiring to see them walking the halls until they needed morphine. But they all wanted to get well and strong and return to battle.

I'd put them up against any soldiers throughout history. They made me proud to be an American.

Blessings to all of the war fighters, and a genuine gratitude for our freedom.

Agree completely. ALL WAR IS horrifying. I am very proud of our brave and honorable soldiers. smile

But still consider WAR to be HORRIFYING...

Hopefully, your son does not suffer from PTSD..

Just curious, but wouldn't it also be true that any Christian that supports unfounded war is not being very Christian either. To date, we estimate that over 150,000 Iraqis have died at American hands.

OMG, you are really equating WAR DEATHS to the slaughter of innocent unborn humans? Do you believe it is UNCHRISTIAN to go to WAR? Do you believe we were UNCHRISTIAN to drop the A-Bomb on Japan and DEFEND AMERICA? crazy What a shocking statement, Want.

Of course war is horrifying.

Thanks for your concern about our son, but I would feel very offended if I thought you were pimping someone else's GRIEF to further an anti-war agenda. Hopefully that is not the reason for your "concern."

The logical conclusion of your point is that our American soldiers are no better than ABORTION BUTCHERS that tear up babies. Is this what you are really saying?

Of course not. I truly have concern for your son and all other sons. I don't have any kind of AGENDA. I just have my personal beliefs.

I live in a military town. It's part of my JOB to talk to folks about what's going on in their lives. I have NO AGENDA. I care about people, like talking to them and getting to know them. I certainly wouldn't share my views about the war. I just LISTEN.

ML,

Thumbs up for the "Band of Brothers" mini series. It was fantastic and inspiring. A testament to the brave men and women that serve this country. I support the troops 110%. I donate every year to the Disabled American Veterans Association. It's this administration or any potential administration that advocates more senseless war that I object to.

No, what I'm saying is killing is killing and for the Republican party to be pro-war and anti-abortion is hypocritical.

I am against "senseless war" too, everyone is. Just because you believe the war is senseless does not mean it is, though.

That being said, what are your thoughts on the REALLY SENSELESS slaughter of millions of unborn babies every year? Do you have a stance about those "senseless" killings?

Are you concerned that MILLIONS of unborn AMERICANS have been slaughtered in this country? Do you believe CHOICE should be afforded to ALL, not just those with power?

That makes no sense, Want. NO ONE is PRO WAR. NO ONE. However, WAR is not IMMORAL. Abortion IS.

You cannot draw a moral equation between WAR and the senseless slaughter of the innocent unborn.

What you are doing is equating AMERICAN SOLDIERS to ABORTION BUTCHERS, which is very offensive............and very irrational.
