The job of president DOES NOT offer on the job training Ummmmmm.......last I looked she was the candidate for VICE president, not president. And one who knows NOTHING about foreign policy. Do you think perhaps she'll have time between shooting endangered animals to do a little cramming before the debate? Charlotte

She did get lots of earmarks for her state, more per capita than anyone else... She did build the road to nowhere... Are these the things you are referring to? Better go back and check your facts AGG... If you want to say something, please say it.. Don't beat around the bush. I'm not capable of reading minds. AGG

AGG, I wonder if the voters will feel that way, but I seriously doubt it. Most voters vote based on style and appearance. Getting past the shifty eyes and the greasy look is not going to be easy for most. He is not a guy that most would buy a used car from.
Secondly, voters want CHANGE in Washington and he represents the tired, old corrupt democrat washington establishment. I would be very worried if that was the best I could drum up.
Even so, the bar has been raised so high by spinning democrats that if he doesn't reduce Sarah to a stuttering mass of tears, he will be viewed as the loser. I fear the democrats have hoisted themselves on their own petard in this regard.

[quote] "I did not have sex with that woman"....no but you did get a BJ from her and God knows what else and for most, if not all of us here on this site, that's cheating!!! Nothing like morals and values in a president. So because Clinton was an adulterer then, you're going to vote for McCain now. :crosseyedcrazy:

I think she was picked because she is very conservative, and because McCain figured (correctly) that she'd be enough of a distraction to throw things in disarray. Yep. That too. Unfortunately for him, the disarray did not last long enough, and the fog is now lifting. That's right! Yup. We're finding out more and more every day as to how dumb she truly is. Yep. And as soon as a little bit more of the snow melts and reveals what's truly underneath, I think we might be safe. Charlotte

Yes. I am dead serious. That woman is a danger to this country. I really wish she WOULD withdraw so he could pick someone else. You've got that wrong.... Osama Obama is the danger to this country....unless of course you want to live in a socialist nation, which I think all of you Liberals do. Just wait until 70% of your paychecks are going into welfare to support all those that don't want to work. Oh and don't forget healthcare, God forbid people have to work for their health insurance coverage. Hey....here's an idea......why don't we ALL work for what we have and stop depending on the government and taxpayers. That's patently ridiculous.Charlotte

Well, the intelligence level on this thread has spiralled way out of my league so I will think I will wander over to the GQ11 forum to see if I can help someone. You kids have fun!

I don't know who I'd buy a car from, but when it came to giving someone the nuclear codes, I'd have to go with Biden over Palin. Ummm....the nuclear codes will go to the President, either McCain or Obama. Which would you rather have as the Commander in Chief? A bit of a stretch to be running against Palin as the holder of the nuclear arsenal. Besides, when was the last time the USA "sneak attacked" any country with a nuclear device?

Do any of us really think we will change the minds of the other side here. Personally, I have no respect for any person that believes life begins at conception AND supports abortion (Biden). I have no respect for a man that sits in a pew for 20 years and then PRETENDS and LIES his way around the racist rants of his pastor. But that's just me. I don't think for a minute that I will convince AGG or Myrev of my position...any more than they have a prayer of getting me to their side.
This election has clear cut issues with which one can make a decision.
Perhaps before we lose even more respect for one another here, we should just consider our purpose on these boards and act accordingly. No matter when and how these topics are brought up, it is bound to stir emotions...mine included. And before all is said and done...it devolves into name calling and finger pointing...me included.

I saw some background shows on Biden, and I happen to like him as a human being. When his wife and one child were killed in a car accident, he commuted back and forth to his Senate job in DC from Delaware daily to be with his two other toddlers. When told he may need to give that up, he said he'd give up his Senate seat before giving up on his kids. So yeah, I guess I'd buy a used car from him if I needed one. I've always liked Biden personally. I think he's a doofus, but a likeable guy. But, I just read the other day that he's said his wife and daughter were killed by a drunk driver. And that was not the case. That was pretty disturbing. I mean I knew he wasn't an honest guy, he's even lied about being shot at while he was in Iraq. But, lying about how your wife and daughter died... What won't he lie about?

A bit of a stretch to be running against Palin as the holder of the nuclear arsenal. Not a big one when the Prez is 72 at start of presidency, and has had numerous health issues. Not a stretch at all. Look at the actuarial tables. AGG

I've seen him talk about the accident on numerous occasions, and not one time had I heard the driver was drunk. Until your post.

I don't think for a minute that I will convince AGG or Myrev of my position...any more than they have a prayer of getting me to their side. Agreed . And before all is said and done...it devolves into name calling and finger pointing...me included. Sadly, this does tend to happen. To me, there is a clear line between debating the issue (including being harsh about the subject of the debate) and name calling the other participants. I hope we can debate without resorting to the latter, but I agree that it is a potential pitfall . AGG

Ummmmmm....I wasn't talking about Palin, I was referring to the Liberal savior Osama Obama. And what foreign policy experience does Obama/Bidden have??? Oh...that's right, they've been on a committee. Man, you're right...they are SOOOOO much more qualified.....

Carter negotiated the Camp David Accords. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for his continued work in resolving world conflicts. Yep. And Yassar Arafat got one too. What, exactly, HAS been resolved? Typical liberal think....all that matters is "they tried," nevermind that results are actually what counts. Now, just HOW is Barak Obama going to NEGOTIATE with the same yahoo that was involved in the hostage taking during Jimmy Carter's Presidency? No preconditions? That's what Barak thinks is the way to negotiate with folks who hate freedom, to say nothing of hating the USA. Oh ya, Mr. "Citizen of the World" wants to turn over control of our country and what we do to the wonderful, peaceloving, honest, United Nations. Riiiiight. Then there's the little matter of Barak Obama interjecting himself in to the political elections in his "homeland" of Kenya. Guess who's side he was on....and it wasn't the Christians or those of no faith. This man is DANGEROUS and should never be anywhere on the grounds of the White House, much less living there.

Not a big one when the Prez is 72 at start of presidency, and has had numerous health issues. Not a stretch at all. Look at the actuarial tables. News Flash, AGG. More typical scare tactics The TRUTH is that NO ONE is promised tomorrow. Obama could die, 'ol Biden could die, and we could have the real "Rocky Horror Picture Show" of President Nancy Pelosi. NOW there's a woman with GOBS of positive approval rating, who just recently solidified her base supporters by calling Republicans unpatriotic. Then there's good 'ol Biden again....this time saying that it's "patriotic" to pay more taxes and we shouldn't complain or we are unpatriotic. By the way...back to the 72 year old issue you raised....are you aware that things that used to kill us no longer are as likely to kill us because our health care system is so good? One indication of how well our health care system has been working are the Life Insurance Mortality Tables (Actuarial Tables for the unnititated). I now have them going out to age 121 for my clients instead of the old "standard" of 99 or 100 years of age. And you a "worried" about McCain making it 4 or 8 years....say to age 80? Maybe. But unlikely. Just as "maybe" but unlikely that ANY President might die in office or be assasinated while in office. No one "expected" JFK to get assasinated, but he was.
