The more McCain uses this ploy of insinuating that Obama is a "terrorist" the further behind he falls in the polls and rightfully so. It's a baseless claim and he knows it. He's trying to use the marketing tactic of FEAR to sell his campaign and it's blowing up in his face. Invoking Obama's middle name to further try and connect him to terrorism. The disingenuousness of it couldn't be more transparent. sick

In the 2000 election, I was a McCain fan...not anymore. The way his campaign has conducted itself in this election is an embarrassment to this country. Allowing people to shout things like "kill him", "terrorist", "off with his head" at HIS campaign rallies is a disgrace.

McCain gets taken to the woodshed

So this all begs the question, will he or won't actually "say it to his face" at tonight's debate.

Obama - Say it to my face

McCain - Say it to my face response

Notice how uncomfortable McCain is at the prospect of bringing up the topic in debate. Phony half-hearted laugh and all. I for one hope he does, so Obama can systematically hand him his butt on a platter in front of 50 million tv viewers for the HATE filled campaign rhetoric HIS camp has spewed. I understand giving it your all to try and win the election, but let's do it on the merits your own ideas rather than why the other guy isn't better than you. What's the point of winning if you have to sell out your HONOR to do it. crazy

McCain has as much cowardice in him as bravery and honor, if not more.

He won't have the guts to say to Obama's face what his ads and Palin have been saying behind his back.

In the past few weeks, McCain has shown himself to be clueless, confused, small, petty, angry, bitter, and lacking good judgment.

It's no surprise he is sinking in the polls.

It's just desperation.

McCain will forever be known as the guy who lost to the first black President.

He'll be reduced to a Trivial Pursuit question very soon.

I think that, on this thread--at least so far--the choir seems to be singing to itself. And yes, W2S, you've certainly convinced me of the accuracy of your claim that I would be "surprised" at your political views. Your posts here have been so subtle that I, with my painful, embarrassing ineptitude at discerning nuance, have not yet been able to get even the tiniest clue yet which way your wind blows! laugh

"Frenzy" would be what Republicans are in, as November 4th approaches and the McCain campaign continues to sputter.

Of course, there are a few still in denial. The various stages of grief are not always easy to overcome. laugh

Speaking of shows, keep an eye on McCain tonight. He cannot look Obama in the eye, he reverts to pointing over his shoulder and blurting out "That One!". How presidential...

OK TL...I'll play.

Death Penalty - I'd put in an express lane for cases with irrefutable evidence (ie DNA, video, confession.)

Gun Control - Means using two hands.

Roe v. Wade - I'd vote for it to be overturned.

Doesn't exactly blow the way you thought does it? My problem stems from the GOP's Economic and Foreign policies. Had McCain presented an actual plan of how his administration was going to differ from the Bush administration that has left us $10 trillion in debt and still fighting an unjust war we supposedly won 5 years ago he probably would have got my vote. Instead of talking about issues, the moment he fell behind, he crawled into the gutter with attack ad politics. Something he claimed he would never do and would rather lose the election. That says a lot about how desperate he is to win.

LOL, thndrnltng! grin

You know what I find odd... why would Obama release a new ad about Ayers, giving his LAME excuses for his "friendly" relationship w/ him, if his internals aren't showing he's taken a hit on the Ayers story?

I wish there was a decent choice. We get to choose between "NOPE" and "NO WAY". I, truly, do NOT want to vote for either of these men. I am considering sitting this one out. I have no real option on who to vote for. I wouldn't want either of them. Neither is worth me driving to the polls for. I might have voted for McCain had he made a decent choice for VP. But, Obama is totally inexperienced, in my opinion. He wants to bring change - what change?

No one in Washington has power by him/herself. They only have power in packs....ok, the president can send troops somewhere....but they can't implement any economic change. They can't implement and foreign policy. They can't really do squat.

So, I can't figure out which person to vote against.

thanks NMDreams! I have used posts like this, trashing Sarah Palin, to get my democrat female relatives to vote for McCain. This is good stuff!!

My little democrat mother has switched her vote and wrote this:

Quote
Just got my computer hooked back up from the great carpet laying.

What gets me is all the talk about Palin being "unqualified" and "inexperienced" to be Vice-President - and nothing along those lines about the the MANWHOWOULDBEPRESIDENT.

Mom

Keep em coming!! My Aunt, a Hillary campaign worker, is also saying similar things. smile

Well let's see, since McCain is now spending 100% of his ad budget on his ridiculous attack ads, it would only make since for Obama to place an ad refuting those claims. I would assume that Obama already figures that McCain won't actually have the stones to "say it to his face" tonight and let him defend himself in front of 50 million voters.

Washington Post, dated 01/17/2007, stated that Obama had already formed his presidential exploratory campaign. He had less than 2 years in the Senate when he did this. From 1997-2004 he was a state legislator. Doesn't require nearly the same knowledge as national programs/policies.

Folks, he wouldn't be where he is now if he hadn't delivered a great speech in 2004 and he probably didn't write that.

I don't see it. I just don't see it.

This is the first time in over 100 years that we have no major party nominee who has no government executive experience.

Well, then, if talking to the American people about Ayers IS hurting Obama...so much so, that he's had to respond to it, doesn't that make this thread, especially the title of it, a little silly?
