thanks NMDreams! I have used posts like this, trashing Sarah Palin, to get my democrat female relatives to vote for McCain. This is good stuff!! My little democrat mother has switched her vote and wrote this: Just got my computer hooked back up from the great carpet laying. What gets me is all the talk about Palin being "unqualified" and "inexperienced" to be Vice-President - and nothing along those lines about the the MANWHOWOULDBEPRESIDENT. Mom Keep em coming!! My Aunt, a Hillary campaign worker, is also saying similar things. http://www.gallup.com/poll/108022/Candidate-Support-Gender.aspx

This is the first time in over 100 years that we have no major party nominee who has no government executive experience. I agree with this, cinders, he has no experience. Two years in the senate no and experience at governance is very weak. Sarah Palin has as much experience as any other governer who ran for president, such as Jimmah Carter, Reagan, etc. Joe Biden has a very weak, and inaccurate grasp of foreign policy. For example, Biden said about Hezbollah: "When we kicked -- along with France -- we kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon." Hezbollah was never kicked out of Lebanon. He then said: "I said and Barack said, 'Move NATO forces in there. Fill the vacuum, because if you don't, Hezbollah will control it.'" ummmmm, Lebanon is not a NATO country, nor had any NATO country been attacked by Lebanon. He says dumb things like that this that makes me wonder.

thanks, but I don't think they are much impressed by polls. They are influenced, though, by the sexism shown by the left. And a little shocked, I would say.

He says dumb things like that this that makes me wonder. You were always going to vote for the Republican nominee, anyway, so what difference does it make to you?

And, if McCain belong to a racist church and listened to the likes of David Dukes, it would be a HUGE issue.
People, there is NO DECENT CHOICE!
That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it. I have no clue for whom I will vote.

Obama could be hammering McCain on character issues like his long-time mistress (Cindy), the Keating 5, and Iran-Contra. He has chosen to avoid dwelling on those issues.

You have to admit it is amusing watching such a frenzy, t&l! Pull up a chair and watch the show! Mel - Watch is about all that I can do. This thread is a prohibited continuation of a previously locked thread, so as much as I'd like to offer up an observation or two, I'll not do so. I am a bit surprised that it has been allowed to go on this long anyway in light of the "rule."

His margin in the polls was not a reflection of what happened on election day. Well, not on election day, but after a few days of total chaos, hanging chads, and Supreme Court intervention . AGG

AGG Oh well...it turned out to be no big deal, right? Things seemed to work out just fine after that. :crosseyedcrazy:

The "rule" didn't get the thread locked...blubbering to the mods did. It doesn't matter what reason, Krazy. Did you see the note attached to my innocuous "Amazing" thread? And I happen to know this subject personally, so perhaps you might consider taking my word on THIS issue.

This thread is about politics, the locked thread was about religion and moral relativity. I am not following ya.

Not with me, you won't. There is nothing "play" about this election. In my 60 years, during at least 45 of which I have paid close attention to political issues, I have not seen an election where more has hung upon the outcome. I'm not going to argue with anybody about the specifics of these particular candidates. With rare exceptions, most people posting have already made up their minds, and nothing said in an online argument, excuse me, discussion, nothing--including pesky, new, or contradictory information--is going to change that. But what we do matters. And for everybody on every side of the aisle, with every possible permutation of opinion expressed on the candidates and the issues--if, after all you've said here (some of it blunt, and even downright rude), you don't vote on election day? Shut up already!!

I thought I'd never live to see the day of this election...regardless of whether Obama wins or loses..it is MIRACULOUS to me..
I wish my grandparents could have LIVED to see it...after what they had to struggle through in their lives...
I wish MORE people HERE understood this..at least people speaking out about the election...
what this election REALLY means to many African-American people..just that Obama was NOMINATED...
And would know that I'm not speaking as a racist and that I abhor racism whether the person is white or black...
I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.
