This afternoon, I took a long nap, took son to library as daughter had gone to a football game, went to Big Lots, got gyro plates and came home to eat. Did a tad of housekeeping - not much - bickered w/ son over his laundry and the pet smell coming from his room. Now I'm here but, as soon as I get off, I think I'll knit a bit.

Well hi there Cinderella,

I'm glad you're here. Sounds like a restful PM. I went to costco, spent a little too much money, but it's all food, so ok.

Came home and have been sitting on my bed listening to my YS get mad at Xbox while I am reading on here and cross stitching. A relaxing day.

I thought about going to another meeting tonight, but I don't want to lose my parking space, naw... I don't want to leave son alone....

Tomorrow I was planning on going to a friend's house starting at 9:00 to meet with a rabbi concerning the state of our temple, then at 1:00 going to make knishes. Never have done that before. But honestly, I am really just wanting to stay at home, be a mom, relax, and cross stitch while i watch tv. My skins are on tomorrow night.

Do you think there is a fine line between resting, taking care of yourself and isolating?

There is NOTHING wrong w/ wanting to stay home and be a mom.

For tomorrow, we wanted to go see a play but that would set us back about $100. We missed getting our family (including dog) picture made w/ santa so, if we want dog in the picture, we will have to spend $35. The play would be a bit risque and I'm not in the mood for that - though it would be riotously funny - so, I vote for see Santa, go see my mom, clean up den and start on the Christmas tree. I need to bake cookies for something tomorrow evening and something else Monday evening.

I hope no one has homework!

For the normal person, NO. For this addict/alcoholic who hasn't been going to so many meetings lately, it might be.

So, I went because I just felt like I needed to be around people who would call me on my crap and tell me I am blowing air.

It was a good meeting and I'm glad I went. YS had the place to himself which is good for a someone his age.

I have decided to stay home tomorrow and be around instead of running around. It keeps me focused or just not so hectic and crazy. I love being home now. That sure has changed.

Where are all beautiful goddesses? Are you all at home cooking and fixing up for the holidays? :happyholidays:

I have my daily routine of skin care, pretty clothes, make up, nails and so on. I have also started to do a short program of toning exercise every day. I used to do that before I married but I stopped because I was embarrassed to lie on the floor and do sit-ups. It works! dance2

But I feel like I should go to the next step in the goddess training. Any suggestions?

Oh well, I can always cook the most awesome Christmas food and make candy to give away as gifts.

I'm here - but I don't like posting only to myself. I'm the most princessy goddess or goddessy princess you've ever seen. I am so awesome that my 18 yo daughter asked to wear my new Christmas scarf to school today. I finished it Saturday. This is Tuesday and she's already borrowed it, 'because I don't have on anything festive' was her reason. skeptical I didn't either but I let her borrow it. dance2 I was pleased. lashes

Well, that's as much fun as knowing my supervisor can watch every move I make or hear every word I say. I'd much rather have a conversation with him than have him listening over the 5 foot high wall.

Wow... An 18 year old girl is a tough judge of fashion so you are rightfully proud. How did you make the scarf?

Bear in mind that I like quick and easy projects.

It is a 7 stitch wide, ribbed scarf.

Used about size 18 or 19 knitting needles and 2 strands of cream colored Plymouth DreamBaby (an acrylic/nylon baby-weight yarn) and one of Sirdar Tuscany in Harlequin . Long and skinny. Tassel on each end.

The Tuscany yarn is a multistranded yarn. One strand has sporadic tufts in it....lavender, fuscia, sage green, light blue....and a few silver sparkles.

Shhhh don't tell Mimi....

I actually went outside this morning and hadn't checked my eyes closely. I took off my mascara, or so I thought, but when I went to the fake and bake salon I looked in the mirror and almost scared myself. Talk about BLACK EYES.... No MASCARA, NO LIPSTICK.... faint

Thank G-d I am blessed with amazing skin.....

I WON'T do that again.......

Then we won't tell her that I went to the used bookstore last night. I walked out, put my foot down on a small piece of metal which was laying there in the dark - waiting for an unsuspecting victim so it could launch itself across the sloping parking lot - fell on the ground, uttering a 4 letter word, got up, checked the knee of my jeans, drove home and put ice on my boo-boo. We won't tell her that the entire lower inside quarter of my left kneecap is skinned and that it's swollen and ugly.

We will tell her that, though I didn't wear makeup today, I had removed all of yesterday's makeup and washed my hair. So, I could have done worse.

Yes, come and kiss my booboo.....besides, the weather is great compared to what you're having.

My son was with me and he handled it great. Checked on me, got car door open, rounded up my items and got them in car, and moved the offending piece of debris. Some strangers were nearby and they came to check on me also. The man offered me a hand up which was very helpful. It hurt, just being thrown on the asphalt is painful, but I survived. Knee's gonna have a beauty of a bruise, I bet....still not fully developed. But, it's a beautiful skin....thankfully, I did not tear a hole in my new jeans.....$6.99 at BigLots and they fit me better than my $35 Ralph Lauren jeans.

Cinder,

You must do a stash run between Xmas and NY's. Plan to stay over and we can do a few cool projects.

OK, I plan to be the ultimate goddess for court tomorrow. My goal is to have WH's atty look at him and tell him what an idiot he is to throw away a classy old broad for a BBQ (Bar-btch Queen). I'm hanging on to a comment that WH made on Dday - that OP was just a BBQ and that I was class. He knew he could take me out and be proud. I'm running with that one.

I have a fairly new Sigrid Olsen tan suede outfit that I bought after WH left last year. The skirt is long with a little flare at the bottom. The jacket is the same suede but with knitted arms that match in color. There is a lot of detail that I would try to describe, but I wouldn't do it justice. I have a black turtle neck to wear underneath.

Yesterday while at the mall, I bought a pair of boots to wear with it. Higher heels than I normally wear (3"), but they were so cool I had to have them. Brown with buckles at the bottom and the top. $200 reduced to $110.

I had my hair done on Wednesday. I was blonde for many years, then went auburn about 10 years ago. I had her put really blonde streaks in it this time. I also had my brows waxed and tinted. I may be 54, but I'm still in pretty good shape and I can still get into a size 4. Not sure how long I'll be able to do that as things are moving, but I'm going to go with it while I still can.

So I think I am ready. I'm going to do my best make-up and hold my head high. Hopefully the judge won't look at me and think that I don't need the support. LOL. Instead, I hope he looks at me and thinks that I DO need the support to keep looking like that!! LOL.

So tomorrow I'll be the Court Goddess. I just hope that I don't break into tears. That would ruin the make-up, not to mention what mascara would do to the suede. I don't want to think about it.

Chai, I have to confess.....forgive me! Oh, I've done a shocking thing.... :MrEEk:

Any projects in the near future will have to be affordable..... :twobyfour:

Remember the LYS near me that is closing? Well, I bought myself a major project....

The Filatura Di Crosa book was 50% off ow it was $7.50. Then there were the 11 balls of pink aMAIZing corn fiber at 30% off so they were about $6 apiece. I'm going for the peplumed jacket.

My children leave Christmas day....I don't go back to work till Monday. I could do a stash run....but I have to deal w/ my dog and don't want to spend money on boarding when I could spend it on more stash. She's a housebroken mutt. Sleeps willingly in her crate. She's the fly in the ointment because my children won't be in town to deal with her.

If I could come up with a solution for her, I'd be out of the house ASAP.

With the children gone and my mom going to my sister's and my sister won't speak to me, I could use the diversion.

I spent Thanksgiving having a pity party and I don't want to do that. I've been asking The Diplomat about New Year's but I don't think that's gonna happen. I may have my own plans for the afternoon of NY Eve. I may buy myself a bowl game ticket and go see a local team play here in town.

Nope, dead serious. I have a Boston Terrier who is a nut case. There is not a dog in the world that can be worse than she is. Her nickname is Psycho Pup. Besides, if your dog will stay in a crate, we have one at the shop. I put Psycho in there when she goes to work with me.

Watch this. My dog does this too

In fact, my dog looks just like this one....
