I would have preferred those classic lines in a fabric like dupioni.
I felt the gathers or pleats at the neckline conflicted with the beading on her dress for the inauguration. General feeling around my racially very mixed office is that her dress for the inauguration was not figure flattering and that the color was not flattering to her skin tone.
I'm waiting to be impressed.

My opinion...she has a GREAT FIGURE..like a MODEL.. and prolly could pull off almost anything...BUT..I AGREE about the COLOR being UNFLATTERING... She's just SOOOOO PRETTY to me..in the face...and "PRETTY IS AS PRETTY DOES"...so gracious, fun-loving, well-spoken..I think we could be FRIENDS...I'd like to hangout with her...maybe give her some FASHION ADVICE..take her shopping...

I had this great link to photos of Michelle.... You are right about the color awards. Look what I found!!!! 1 - don't gather that skirt so much...make it more circular...takes weight off her midsection (I have it too and I know to avoid gathered skirts) 2 - didn't like the color or the shape or the neckline or the putrid gloves (again, it's just my opinion - I'm fine with you loving it - but, in my office, across racial lines, we didn't like it on her) 3 - painful...lose that belt 4 - 7 - all much better, I find these quite nice from what I see 8 - lower that neckline and flair that skirt, like the color, all I see are hips, tummy, thighs - Laura didn't do much better 9 - do not let either woman wear that dress again - ever. YIKES! 11 - excellent 13 - though the dress is straight, the sleeves and necklace create balancing interest...good look 14 - outstanding 15 - merely ok 16 - shape is ok...not the colors/stripes 17 - good 18 - not good - at all....will only increase midsection of body but I love the color 19 - can't tell much 20 - see that bow? A stripe of brown piping from that bow to the hemline might have saved this. Again, I think she needs skirts fuller at the knees. PLEASE!!! 21 - not good...it's a skirt thing. 22 - good 23 - nice lines but doesn't work on her - in my opinion She is a very striking woman. I love the fact that some of her clothes are from normal lines, especially J Crew. The photo of Joe and Jill Biden dancing on the presidential seal was stunning. There were also some wonderful photos of the Obamas - I especially liked the ones where they were really looking at each other. And Aretha looked just like she should have looked.

Cinders, my dear, you are becoming quite a FASHIONISTA.... I LOVE IT!! 2 and 4 are my FAVs..she looks SOOO PRETTY in those particular photos..I know a broken record from me..but she's GOT IT..NOW..in regards to her MAKEUP..even though I don't particularly like those OUTFITS... 18..I'm loving that her arms are so TONED..the FIRST LADY definitely has a workup routine.. LIKE ME she has those BOWED LEGS..my H finds them SEXY..I find them YUCKY.. She ought to stick to the WINTER COLORS and stay away from the YELLOWS and ORANGES..but who asked me...LOL.. It's all in FUN.. We certainly need a BREATH OF FRESH AIR..IMO..

A FRIEND of mine met her and talked to her on MONDAY during the DAY OF SERVICE in DC!! She says that she was so gracious..that she just came over and started talking to her. She says that she is WONDERFUL and BEAUTIFUL!!

I didn't realize that TIC-TACS worked for the THAT!!!!!!!
Fellow Goddesses - just bumping this up for another potential goddess who was wearing an oversize Paul McCartney tee all day yesterday............
I'm proud of myself today, because I FINALLY took everything out of my closet, vacuumed, washed, mended, sent to dry cleaners, organized, and donated and gave away. I tried everything on and got rid of about half of it. I found whole new outfits, still with the price tags on them!!!!!!
