Ours ended Sunday, AW.
I don't think I've ever been so glad to come to work.
A week in the car with my kids would do that to anyone...and I think I found a new "sparkly" hair. I know just which kid to attribute it to, and it's a good thing God made him cute or he'd be toast by now.
I never had to take the Kobayashi Maru test until now. What do you think of my solution?O'hana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. My Story Recovered!

AJ just called to tell me about the local free blood pressure screening: after you got your BP taken you could take advantage of their free lunch of pork chops, mashed potatoes, and gravy.
I am not kidding.

Pork ..... yum mashed potatoes and gravy ..... yummer The Heart Foundation here calls it the 'other white meat' ...chicken being the other .... however no skin on either which is the best part if you are a carnivore like our crew lol I wonder if the local hospitals would do that here ? Is AJ ok and getting all ready?? especially now that SOMEONE else did all the packing ? I hated packing and unpacking. Not moving ever again ... until we have too. I just got the copy of the bill from Aussies hospital stay ,,,, which we don't have to pay but that Aussie has to endorse as having received the service ... in one word .. EEk ...... for the tax payer... which includes us of course

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{AW & Aussie}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
{{{{Taxpayers of Australia}}}} LOL!
Any word from the wayfaring songbird?
AJ is doing ok-ish. Last week he finally succeeded in getting his furnace fixed, though not without a sizable bill from having to call someone in. This week he finally finally finally succeeded in getting his water fixed, and took his first in-home shower last night.
He's back to taking the rest of last year's grain to the whatchamacallit, and back on his inhaler again, too. >:( He had me send off his resume to a tractor place in Williston that was advertising for a managerial position, and I hope he gets it!
This is my second full day with no children. I don't count it when they keep showing up, lol. Yesterday Dad brought them over with a load of wood and took back a load of trash from the garage. Then, about 8:00 pm I get a call from Mr. C. "We've got some bread and rolls in the oven, and when they get done, we're going to bring some over to you."
That was soooo sweet, and the rolls were yummy, too!
Oh, and after Mom's complaining about the tires and camp stove, I saw last night that the concentration camp was under a winter storm warning for last night, and that there was a chance of snow most of the way across Nevada for their trip home today. So the tires were a very sensible precaution. And I will laugh SO HARD if she has to use the camp stove for something, too!

Aussie is way too ok if you ask me. However one reprieve is that he has to go to Murdock Uni to see a chest specialist just to ensure there are no lasting issues that will inconvenience the Army in the next year or 10. "Sarky of curse" ..lol well laugh or cry got to choose one. However all xray and scans are perfect ... sadly KWIM . just one idea... :twobyfour: So June is looking too close for me. This week he finally finally finally succeeded in getting his water fixed I immediately thought I didn't know that, is AJ ok now!!! lol however the shower explained it all to me. I have been very involved in Mikey's swimming lessons younger the better over here with all the beach life around. Its been very warm thankfully and Mikey is having an absolute ball even if I have panic fits when he takes a breath and sinks to the bottom and pushes off up to into the open again.. see mummy mummy mummy see see ... yes mummy sees alright .... all the time acting 'cool' and the experienced mum but if he can float he can get to the shallows.... not that I would leave him alone near water anyway. I love my cast iron camp stoves.. I use them in the kitchen ... I love making damper bread in them a well. Sadly the microwave is far too easy and quick at times. I do hope AJ can get that job it would just be the icing on the cake. Big prayer for that. Your mum ... concentration camp .. lol so funny .. another laugh or cry isn't it. I do hope that the inmate is doing really well... and that you can enjoy the childless moments even if you do miss them underfoot.... come on .. you really do .. I know you do... wayfaring songbird or songbirds should I say... yes ... well... not sure you could sum up the twosome in one word .... but embarrassed .... sorry for themselves.... and others would be the description for about 2 days. well self earned though. I heard Siobhan thought she was dying and asked for last rites Some lessons we learn the hard way. No one can tell you. Just lucky there was family around to help you up. However right now they are on the road travelling west in County Kerry and stopping in a place called Baile an Sceilg. It has a long established family run equestrian centre which takes people on beach runs and treks so they are going to do that. About the only place I can remember that has really lovely sandy beaches. well sort of. then it's off to I quote " Mum this amazing place called Cill Rialaig artists retreat in the small Gaeltacht village of Dun Geagan." I don't know what's 'amazing' about it but I am sure I shall be informed eventually. After that they want to go to Dingle on Dingle Bay which is still in County Kerry. I think the itinerary is still to go up the west coast to Donegal seeing family along the way... as well as pubs They have not been too talkative perhaps because Siobhan's mum got the three of them just so good. Love that woman.... lol Shot from hip and right between the eyes on every shot. More as the bloggers report in. I want to know what your Mum actually cooks in the camp oven... MRE's .... cans of soup .... ??????? Oh took my 'adopted sons' on Tuesday morning .. three of them... down to the boat to go to Kingston barracks on Rottnest Island. They are going to look after some kids on school camp for a week and decided to help out while they are on leave. Of course that the teachers going are single and a 'bit alright' MAY have had something to do with it however I will give the boys the benefit of my doubt. Sometimes they act like reprobates the three of them... so I just have to slap them back into line.

Dentist: "Great checkup! Here, have some candy." For Halloween, I was the tooth fairy. At Trunk or Treat at church, I gave out candy and admonished the children to brush their teeth.

So the tires were a very sensible precaution. And I will laugh SO HARD if she has to use the camp stove for something, too! Har-de-har-de-har! I'll have you know that those almost-snow tires actually touched snow--briefly--as we flew down the highway at the maximum allowable speed. There was never a single second of the trip where regular tires would not have been MORE than sufficient. And I absolutely guarantee you that at NO time was there ever the slightest chance of my using either the shovel or the camp stove!! I didn't even know we had the shovel along until well into the trip when its incessant rattling on the back window made me look to see what that extremely annoying racket was coming from...:crosseyedcrazy: You can jolly well save your laughter for another day. So there. tl

Apparently the "maximum edit time" is now less than 1-1/2 minutes! So I couldn't add, quietly, that it was on TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS that the tires touched snow...both in Idaho, both lasting less than 15 minutes. Ooooooooooooooooooooh! Unless Neaksis wants to come along and contradict me; however, she wants my help next week so perhaps her need will temper her enthusiasm. I guess we'll find out.

Well, it appears that the "maximum edit time" is less than 10 seconds, and when you click "preview" you go directly to posting. How come every time we have an "upgrade" things deteriorate? And why have alleged emoticons if you're only going to have a written description of the emoticon you expected to get? Picky, picky... tl

Hi SIHW! You'll like it here. This is a multipurpose thread - it is whatever you want or need it to be. So I was taking a walk with the kids earlier, and the Dervish and I stared at a bunch of cows staring at us. "MOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" said the Dervish. "Momma, do you think I just assaulted the cows?" "No. I'm pretty sure you didn't." "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Now did I assault the cows?" "No." "And I'm pretty sure you mean insult."

It's going to be a SAD day for this family, humor-wise, when those kids start using words correctly! Welcome, SIWH (or, if those aren't the right letters, Woman of Several Initials). This is a fun place to hang out, most of the time, although serious topics to occasionally bubble to the surface. The posters are mostly, but not entirely, women, and we owe our unique thread title to the illustrious Pepperband, in response to a joke I made to Neak some years back. I'm just glad that that the joke wasn't about condoms! I'm not sure I'd be to comfortable posting in the Prophylactic Palace, for example tl
