While you refuse to get help on the PTSD from your deployment you will most likely not be able to stop drinking. Most soldiers self medicate PTSD through drink and drugs..and sometimes promiscuity ...that's a very sad truth for many.

Armymama is quite right that a group session is very effective and special forces are now encouraging troopers to do this.. she is also right that the attitude of the Army.. your country and mine... is very pragmatic.. they need you for a task.. you can do the task ..so off you go... its only a concern if you cannot do the task.

So get yourself to a Vets centre if you don't want the Army to know... once you begin to have some control over the PTSD .. you can begin controlling the drink and associated problems.

But you need to get off your butt and get into action on this. That alone will be hard but you CAN do it. No talking about it.. just do it!!!

You want to recover your M??? then start with the basics and keep your lovely wife in the loop.

Life may feel as if you are constantly getting kicked on a daily basis, living is about picking yourself up each day and going on and on and on regardless.
