Howtoheal:

Karma posted her question to Dude about his thoughts about his RA, and about how some do not think he is showing proper, IDK, "remorse, contriteness, or former-ness" because why?

SMB had an affair while tst was involved with his. Are you taking her to task? Or is she contrite enough?

Do I feel that Dude is fully healed and not a renter? No. What does he think? I believe that he has moved WAY down the road from where he was. Both before his WW affair, and his RA. And since joining us here at MB, I believe he has really moved down the road of recovery.

Heck, he has allowed his divorced wife back into his life. He has reasonable reasons NOT to re-marry this woman, and I can respect that decision. She is making the choice NOW to be with him. He states that she in almost fog-free now. He sees the woman he married.

He has even posted a thread discussing this particular issue.

In many ways, DUDE is spending more time working on his personal issues around here that many others who believe that they are "recovered"

And his irreverence is amusing on many levels. He has a perspective and a particular place that he sits, because of his specific circumstances. That's cool, that is what makes MB such an interesting place, it allows all to sit at the table and contribute. To stay at the table, you need to just not profess that you are betrayed spouse and belong here, you most profess that your willing to work on yourself, and become a better person. Very few long term posters here have not changed in profound ways since joining.

DUDE has changed. Maybe you don't see it, but I do.

LG

Oh, in the recent ST movie, I cracked up in the theatre when Kirk turned to Sulu (in the shuttle on the way to the probe) and asked in what man-to-man combat skill he was trained. Sulu's answer was, "Fencing." Both my children fence. BTW, the skill Sulu displayed on the probe was not classical fencing. It was some other martial art - more like kendo.

Last edited by cinderella; 12/16/09 11:58 AM. Reason: clarification - my children say it's more like kendo.....IDK for sure....but it's not classical fencing.

Being a nerd is good for us women, you wouldn't believe the Urkel-types I keep attracting... rotflmao

One year becomes two, two years becomes five, five becomes ten and before you know it, you've wasted your whole life on a problem you can't solve. That's one way to spend your life. -rwinger

I will not spend my life this way.

The problem is the stereotype--half of them are either overweight or live with their moms.

I just need to find one who's neither. Maybe a future Bill Gates--an evil overlord who is determined to make HIS idea the ONLY idea...

I was wondering when the American Pie reference was going to emerge. I am so proud to say I have never seen that....or Dumb and Dumber....or Hangover

However, I have seen Revenge of the Nerds at least 5 times.

Hey now! I can't help that I was subjected to what was on showtime when I was a kid due to the lack of control over the remote.
My older sister was horrible.
That's the only reason I know what a lamda is.
