OK? ST2009 was only OK?
Did she watch the same movie I did?
It effin' rocked!
And no one trumps my geekyness.
Sorry Dads. My comic book and figurine collections trump yours anyday.
I never had to take the Kobayashi Maru test until now. What do you think of my solution?O'hana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten. My Story Recovered!

KOTOR is pretty liberal in terms of romance...at least, if you play a girl.
If you play a girl you can choose between Juhani and Carth, or so I am told.
Sigh. I can't watch Star Trek. I'm a Star WARS fan, and we know the two don't mix...I always found Picard stuffy anyway, and Kirk, well...

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the game, but I remember reading about Lucas' first wife. She left him for another man, and he was truly heartbroken.

I bet she's kicking herself all up and down the alleys of anyplace... It might have more to do with the game than you know, considering BOTH OPs were murdered... Probably what 'ole Moneybags Lucas wanted to do, you never know.

This is not true......I have been told I look like Princess Leia and saw a photo of her once that made me do a doubletake....was like seeing myself. Own all 6 SW movies. However, I own the first 6 Star Trek movies and thought I bought the latest one for my son....saw it 2x at theatre.

You are what is known as an "exception." The rule is that Trekkies and Star Wars fans never mix, like oil and ..well...you get the idea.

Then consider me a mutant fan. I enjoy both franchises for different reasons.
The gf liked the ST movie. I did too, but thought there were some issues with it that bugged me, but that's the case with movies in general.
My biggest beef with Trek is that everyone speaks English. Perhaps no one has fully explained the Universal translator to me, but I don't get why in Next Generation the Klingons speak both languages and switch back and forth between the two. Why doesn't the UT translate for all to hear? Is it something implanted in your head?
So why does Nero, a blue collar guy, speak English and all of his crew speak English?
The commentary pretty much says it all with a dismissal of the question.
The other issue: Why does Kirk get promoted from Cadet to first officer? And why does he jump a ton of ranks upon graduation and made into a Captain right away? Is it a field promotion? Is the Federation that desperate for Captains that they take a kid and just make him Captain?
Don't get me wrong, rank leaps are nothing new in the military. It just seemed like this was a massive leap to go from cadet straight to Captain. I mean, I know Kirk is a massive bada$$, but that's a heck of a jump.
Also, if the sun of one of the biggest races in Trek was about to go Nova, wouldn't they have other places within their empire to move their population?
Why does Nero beat Kirk up instead of just throwing him off the bridge down to the bowels of his ship?
I could go on like this about Star Wars, but that franchise was ruined more by Lucas's bad writing than by leaps in logic. "The Force" gives you lots of leeway in crazy stuff happening.
The first three movies had characters that talked to each other in a much more natural fashion. The prequels were awfully stiff in terms of dialog. Would it have killed the producers to have Anakin call Obi Wan "Ben" instead of "Master"?
My WXW was pregnant with twins and I can tell you that she was much bigger than Natalie Portman in that movie.
But the basic plot of SW isn't as easy to nitpick as ST. I still enjoyed the movie, but there's tons of questions raised which simply aren't logical.
Why, for example, must Kirk be marooned on a planet instead of simply placed in the brig of the Enterprise? Does Spock not have confidence that the brig could hold Kirk?
I could go on and on.
I guess the point I was trying to make is that you CAN be a fan of both. Most of my friends are.

What? You've never heard of a Babel Fish?
(snort)
I know, I know...wrong story.
