Pheonix1,

You have done a very brave thing. A pro-active thing that will prove to be the best action you could have taken to remedy his "addiction".

Do not take his rantings and his sharp tongue to heart, but let them run off you like water off a duck.

He will be going through REAL WITHDRAWAL now. Now is the time for the No Contact letter. Now is the time for him to get serious, man up and confess to all.

You did a good thing. Stay on that HIGH ROAD. STAY VERY STRONG.

Thank you for your letter. He has ended the affair with this woman, finally. It also helps that she's 2 states away now. He finally called to tell her he's letting her go. She was angry with him of course, told him he never loved her, that she's started dating someone else, and has made that "official" as of last night(whatever that means - I'll have to ask him about that), and that he was a monster for hurting her. He stated he wants to work things out with me, and is "all in". I want to work things out as well, more than anything.

Anyone who can give me advice on how to help him from here on out, I'm all ears. We are about to start counseling together with Dr. Harley's daughter, Jennifer. I just want to be supportive, so any advice, especially from those who've been the WH would be appreciated. What did your wife do to help you through the withdrawal period? My husband was going through withdrawal, but had kept contacting this woman, so it kept setting withdrawal back to zero. Now that things are ended, he's really going through it all over again, and it's really really difficult for both of us. Thanks for any advice on recovery. We've been married for almost 10 years.

Phoenix,
I like Harley's letter to a wayward wife - he writes on what the wayward needs to do and it will give some insight to you too...
