Thanks for the well-wishes (and GRATS). I've either been sick twice since then, or had really terrible allergies (can you say 'seasonal asthma'). I'm getting really tired of coughing. On the bright side, I know I don't have tuberculosis, since I had my testing done in the middle of my worst respiratory problems. See? There's always something to be thankful for.

The job isn't quite in the bag yet, but I know that when the school superintendent stops by in person to tell AJ he would like me to have the job, I don't have too much to worry about.

Well, except for passing my drive test. The supe mentioned taking in to the DMV on the 21st, so I'll keep you posted. I've already gotten to drive the school bus around here (no kids), and did fine. I do have to do some backing maneuvers, but I figure it's probably easier than some of the things I've had to do in reverse.

As to a date? I'm not quite sure. I'd start looking out extra toward mid-August, just to be on the safe side. I might back over you but I promise it would be an accident.

Wooohoooo. Earplugs WOULD be a superb idea hahahaha. My friend went on a school and it was on 6 blocks away and she complained about the noise. She has 5 kids of her own at home and umpteen more that hang out so if she said it was loud I believe her.

I am sure you will do great. I know a lot of people who drove school buses and they loved it.

When my H drove schoolbus for a time, he always started the school year wearing a T shirt with a bus on it that said, "Get in, sit down and be quiet". It never worked, but the kids loved it.

Back from my first day. So far no earplugs needed, but maybe I'd better carry an emergency pair just in case.

If nothing else, I will need them by winter when my own kids ride the bus. crazy

Meeting EN's creatively in a hi-tech world can be fraught with challenges unknown to our parents and grandparents.

The other day, AJ called up to let me know that, while he was in the big city, he was going to be meeting my emotional need for a veggie burrito from the Mexican food place.

Overwhelmed with the $LB deposit, I, in turn wanted to make a deposit for his EN of Admiration. "Have I mentioned that you're my favorite husband in the whole world???" And a sprinkle of SF. "When you get home, I'll be waiting for you with bells on, and my clothes off."

Pause.

"Um, Dear, I'm on speakerphone. My co-worker says he's going to turn his hearing aid down now."

faintfaintfaint

It is very hard to be a Seductive Temptress whilst dying of humiliation.

Whoever invented cameras on Six Flags rides, however, should be thanked.

I called my H's office a while back and as soon as he answered his extension I chimed out "Hey, hot buns!" First...silence. Then...cackles and hoots from a chorus of men. H was in his office with his boss and a couple of his co-workers and had hit the speakerphone. blush

I'm very careful about how I say hello when I call him now.

But I think the co-workers were a little envious of our affection. grin
