KT: I have to agree with Tawanda, sorry. Beer tastes like something you might find in the bowl of an unflushed toilet. And I too love steak.
And I agree with Kayla. My favorite drink is a Shirley Temple, though I also quite enjoy cranberry juice and Sprite (not sure if there's a name for that). I don't really care for the taste of alcohol either, and since I'm not really looking to get drunk, I truly don't see the point in drinking something I don't actually like. I haven't had a margarita or a daiquiri in 3 years, and I seem to be getting by just fine. If you don't like it, then don't feel pressured into drinking just because everyone else is. I've had far more fun sober (and gotten into far less trouble) than I ever did drunk.

Beer....that is the nastiest foulness ever to rise from the earth. Your statement is mean, cruel, and downright disrespectful to the ever so delightful beverage known as beer. And the fact that you lump all barley and hop creations into one group tells me that you prob think soy is a good substitute for steak...yep, one of THOSE kind of people. Ben Franklin would be appauled that you are an American. I need you to not post in any thread that I post in for at least 2.5 weeks or it might trigger me back to this moment. I think I need a quiet moment to reflect. Fistfight over booze!!! ![[Linked Image from smileyvault.com]](http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/basic/thumb_smileyvault-popcorn.gif) Go get er, KT!!

My university didn't have a football team...so there! And I'll have you know I eat ribeye, medium. I don't do not soy....or tofu. Only women who don't shave their armpits eat that junk Lies from a salad eater!!!

Salisbury steak does not count. I've had far more fun sober (and gotten into far less trouble) than I ever did drunk. Obviously you don't enjoy super awesome games like "Where did I leave my car last night?" And "when did I get this tattoo?"

Fistfight over booze!!! ![[Linked Image from smileyvault.com]](http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/basic/thumb_smileyvault-popcorn.gif) Go get er, KT!! I know! Theez wimenz is lumping beer into one catagory as if you go to the store and reach for a beverage with a label BEER. There are thousands of different brews that taste night and day different. Would anyone on here say that a red wine tastes the same as a white wine as a sparkling white wine? No. And would anyone say tequilla tastes like jagermeister or tastes the same as a shoot of vodka? Nope. For all of you unrefined beer haters, suffice to say, if you had 10 beers (outside of swill beers or your typical budweiser, miller, etc) But I wouldn't expect you neandrathals to understand. HATERS all of you! ...except Melody whom flutters on angel wings while packing pistols.

It's called imagination. Remember, I'm a writer, so I have one of those.Salisbury steak does not count. Actually, my steak of choice is either fillet mignon or prime rib, though I do enjoy a good Rib Eye now and then.I've had far more fun sober (and gotten into far less trouble) than I ever did drunk. I don't use my fists to fight; I'm a girl. I kick and knee and bite and pull hair. I don't have to be drunk to play "where's my car?" I'm blonde and right-brained and 42. I'm sure there are SOME beers that taste okay....just like I'm sure there are nice Yankees and Smart Tennessee fans and Brunettes who actually have more fun. If your college didn't have football, you obviously didn't go to school in the south.....in the south there's no point in having a college if you don't have football.

KT: I have to agree with Tawanda, sorry. Beer tastes like something you might find in the bowl of an unflushed toilet. You must not have traveled much. I went to college in Europe, where I gained a huge affinity for beer (and wine). Too much so, in fact. But I digress... European beers make American beers seem what I believe the pee from diabetic cows tastes like. Americans have no appreciation for fine brews. In fact, Germany had a law, the Rhineheitsgebot which was the German "beer purity law" which stated the only ingredients that could be used in the production of beer were water, barley, and hops (yeast has now become the "fourth ingredient"). South of Munich is a monastery, the Cloister Andechs that brews some of the most phenomenal beer in the world. During the Turkish siege of the 1500s, the inhabitants of the surrounding villages took refuge behind its walls and survived by drinking the potent brews, which are loaded with protein, taste and character. Properly brewed, a beer, lager, ale or pilsner is every bit as much an "adult beverage" as any of the "harder" drinks. I mean, gin??? Who drinks gin, except alcoholics?

I would love to, but I've never had the money for it. But I have tasted what friends claimed were good, high-quality (imported) beers, and I couldn't for the life of me tell the difference between them and the cheap domestic ones. They were all equally awful.

Sorry - can't get past the smell of ANY brand/brew. I can smell the stuff half a football field away, had some drunk dump his down my back - too many BAD associations to bad smells and bad behavior to ever want to try a "taste". bleeecchhhhh

I wasn't at a D1 or D2 university, so sports weren't all that important like it is at OU OR OSU. I went to a university that specialized in teacher preperation. They've now become the third largest university in Oklahoma...so things are im proving and a lot more money is coming in. They have football now but because of Title IX, they weren't allowed any more male sports until they added more female sports. As it was they had more women only sports as compared to male oriented sports. So, it's because of YOU WOMEN that it took so long for my university to get a football team.

They were all equally awful. This is purely for scientific research... Go get a Guinness, a Dundee's Honeybrown, a Chimay, and ohhhhh...a Fat Tire. I guarrantee you will absolutely notice a COMPLETELY different taste, feel, and aroma to the beer. And if you don't like em. Welllll....I'll recycle them for you. Then for fun, you can test those above against a Bud Light and a Millwakees Best.

But I have tasted what friends claimed were good, high-quality (imported) beers, and I couldn't for the life of me tell the difference between them and the cheap domestic ones. They were all equally awful. The problem is that even imported beers must meet American standards for what passes as "beer." When alcohol content goes to 7% or higher (or thereabouts), Americans no longer consider it "beer" and are forced to classify it as a wine, aperitif, or some such. And import regulations are differentl Therefore, "import" beers are watered down weak cousins of their continental parents. The only beer I know that even remotely tastes like its European counterpart is Heineken.

What a horrible tasting beer. If I want something higher than 7%, I'll bust out the mead. Speaking of which...I think it's about time to bottle it up. I think it'll go well with the mozzarella and canadian bacon stuffed burgers I'm going to broil tonight.
