Sorry - indiegirl asked if he has 'owned up to his mistakes willingly' and he has admitted that what he has done was awful.
My question is - what is the best way to start rebuilding trust? What are you supposed to do when your mind wanders and you suspect the worst? I know I can't keep bringing this up with him - as patient as he is being I know no one can have a life like this.

The polygraph should do all those things.
Gives him an opportunity to prove himself.

I am reluctant as to their accuracy and so am not sure if I will even believe the results either way. I need to believe and trust him from my heart.. Why who told you they were inaccurate? Just go to a reputable place. Your heart stopped believing in him when confronted with proof to the contrary - it will only start believing again when it sees something verifiable.
