My mother in law has not put pressure on WH or met/contacted the OH as far as I'm aware -she seems to just accept that the marriage is over but said I will always be her daughter in law no matter what happens. So I will phone her and ask if she will help me as I try to save my marriage.

Again many thanks to everyone that has replied.
Talk to your MIL again and encourage her, on behalf of her grandchildren, to try to help right this ship by talking to her son. Explain to her that you want to keep her grandchildren in a loving, two-parent home - not being shuttled back and forth in a divorce situation.

If she hasn't considered the affect divorce will have on her beloved grandchildren, she needs to do so right away.
