I bought the line that it was too costly for my WH to leave his present position immediately, that his transfer was "in process" and would take a few months. It ended up taking 6 months, during which the A continued underground while my H gave me HOURLY faked reports of his "limited, professional-only contact".

My advice is to go to his superior and HR department (YOU do this, to ensure it happens), explain the situation, ask that whatever measures necessary to separate the two are undertaken.
