Well tonight was fun - in fact the whole weekend was fun! The kids and I ate out, took along their little friends, saw a couple of movies, and tonight we have another friend over. It's so lovely to have a happy, free household. I enjoy doing things that make my kiddos happy, and no "competition" or fear of upsetting anyone.  And I LOVE being on my own. It's addictive, I'm telling ya. Only a few moments of loneliness here and there. Still no word on the final settlement - I hope to see it from my attorney soon. I want this done! Enjoying IB as well. It is like a breath a fresh air. Hooray! How was your vacation, LR?

We went to the school fundraiser last night. It was wonderful to see a bunch of my neighbors again and catch up with them - their new jobs, my situation, their coming babies, etc - winter has kept everyone inside. I have a couple of coffee dates now, and I am feeling so much better - more social, accepted, and cared for. It's been a lonely couple of months, but spring is coming and I'm blessed to live in such a close-knit neighborhood with caring people.
It felt good. Whew!

Well, we have a settlement, signed by both parties, and it's been filed with the court. Hooray! I'll go to court next Thursday and the divorce will be final.
Big sigh of relief.
It's felt like a long road, but it has only been 4 months. That's like record-breaking, I think!

That's awesome Zhamila. Your family is *so* blessed that you recognized this stuff for what it was, took prompt action to try to save it, and then knew what to look for to see if it was or was not providing the family safety. Your radar is great and I know next time you'll pick someone gentle and kind to you and your kids. And it's okay to take as long as you want to get to that point. I like the expression, you're not on fire I wish we would have been able to connect when you all were down here.

And we had a big "divorce" party last night - lots of my girlfriends came, and the kids' friends came too! It was very fun. I feel more relaxed and free now, and - bonus - my hair has stopped falling out  Thanks everyone for the encouragement & lovin'. I am blessed to have you all here.
