Wow, more Ashley Madison news. Apparently a second data dump has been released. Also Josh Duggar has admitted to having an account on Ashley Madison and being unfaithful to his wife. This is SO SAD. I truly admired the Duggars and the Christian example they seemed to be setting. But to see such blatant hypocrisy on the part of Josh does nothing but give the secularists ammunition to fire against Christians and makes us all look bad, in a way. Who is Josh Duggar? Never heard of him.

Where does this crazy idea come from that Christians are supposed to be perfect? My word, it is Christians who claim they are all sinners, not secularists. Just because a Christian believes in standards of right and wrong is not a claim of perfection.
Our culture holds Christians to this false standard of perfection and then judges them when they fail the false standard. "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-- of whom I am the worst." 1 Timothy 1:15 Paul said that. But, who could say that any more than me? If Christians weren't sinners, we would have no need for a savior, and the whole reason for our faith goes out the window.

I just looked him up. Another Hollywood guy. Listen i already posted that half of Hollywood is homosexual and the other half is fake. Its a mistake to look to any actor for a role model. Maybe look to Seagal for like a karate role model or Bruce Willis for fighting but not for Christian values.

I do wish Pepperband were still around to remind us that people in Hollywood are human with real feelings and some of them are indeed decent.

They are a Christian family in Arkansas, not Hollywood. They live their Christian values, and are lambasted and hated for doing so. They are not actors.
His wife and parents do not deserve to be compared to Hollywood's homosexuals or fakes just because they are famous. She is very likely devastated by the discovery of his unfaithfulness, just as any Christian wife would be.

Well apparently he doesn't live traditional Christian values or he would not be on an affair website That's right, Jedi. No Christian has ever had an affair before Josh Duggar. Those that have are not really Christians -- they are probably homosexuals or fakes. Hmm, guess I'm a homosexual or a fake, too.

Hold on. I was speaking about Hollywood. Im shocked its defended here. Hollywood has produced and pumped more filth into American households than anything Ashley Website did. It alone has corrupted generations of youth. Hollywood creates these fake reality shows becauze they are cheap to make and market good. If they make one about a fitness guy, then all the fitness people like it and endorse it. If they make one about a family of 19 kids then all the Christians like it and endorse it. But keep in mind these are people that get a check from Hollywood and sell a brand. Coffee cups, Christmas cards, duck posters etc.
I've seen a lot of celebrities get caught and usually the wife is right next to him on television when he finally admits to the affair. The media idiot experts usually talk about how the marriage will heal through counseling and hard work and forgiveness.
Unfortunately, from what i read the Dugar family is from a denomination which believes in unconditional love and all authority from the husband so that is probably what will be promoted. He will say he is sick and needs help (like we read so many times on SAA) and his wife will say she is willing to forgive him because she is supposed to. The media boss assigned to them may also give them instructions they will need to consider.
I hold out hope for someday reading of one of these high profile cases and seeing Dr. Harleys name mentioned and a celebrity saying, "We are following the advice and program of Dr. Willard Harley." But i doubt we will see it in this case.

The rest of us were talking about a Christian family. One where the wife is likely devastated by this news, and so are the parents. It has nothing to do with Hollywood, or what Hollywood has produced or sells. It has nothing to do with homosexuals or fakes.
It's about a decent family that has been blown away by terrible news. A wife who doesn't deserve that.
It is bizarre that you would bring Hollywood into that.

Ashley Madison is for people who are trolling for affairs. That's not just a matter of poor boundaries or a lapse of judgement, that is a very intentional move to be unfaithful and dishonest. Seems to me we often tell women like Mrs. Duggar to divorce men like Mr. Duggar because this sort of thing indicates a serial adulterer for whom recovery is often impossible.
I don't think it is unfair to call a member there (Ashley Madison) who portrays himself as a Christian head of household on a reality TV show a hypocrite, because that is a glaringly accurate description. It's not like the man had no choice in putting his family out in the spotlight, and it's not like there wasn't a monetary incentive for him to do so. And in light of all of that attention and eyes he knew were watching him, he still chose to sign up for an affair website and premeditated betraying his wife.
Sorry, very little sympathy for what's coming to him. I do feel very sorry, however, for his wife. I hope they recover their marriage and affair proof it but I wouldn't be shocked if he isn't marriage material either.

It's fine to point out Josh Duggar is a hypocrite. He is. So are most people. Jesus pointed out hypocrites all the time. The only real issue is that we know who Josh Duggar is and that he has had a huge platform to declare values and standards that he failed to live up to. Some people who are wayward or don't share those values will gleefully rejoice in his downfall. But perhaps his downfall will help him change is behavior with repentance and sincerity. Then maybe...he can start repairing his family. Or it won't. He'll express fake remorse and receive fake forgiveness. I think the latter will probably be true simply because he won't want to give up his fame in order to save his family.
It's clear that he had extreme sexual temptation issue and acts on them. That stuff is hard to break and I am no expert on how to do it, but his extremely public lifestyle probably doesn't help. Being any kind of celebrity, even a Christian one, goes to people's heads because it offers extreme admiration (a need for many men, in particular) sometimes without doing much (this is true for reality TV guys especially--they don't even have to have any real talent). When you have sycophants, it's easy to have affairs. Mix that with his history of sexually acting out and...well there you have it.
Fame itself (excessive admiration) is addictive. Even fame in your own world. I predicted that my WH wouldn't leave his business to save his marriage because in his world, owning that gym makes him a minor celebrity (and made is affair possible). He loves that. Even just attention on facebook and stuff like that. So the "need" or addiction to fame can be corruptive and lead to other sins.
This doesn't mean the JD would have not had affairs if he had not been famous. He might have, and I would argue that it's probably likely given his history. However, I just think it's going to be darn near impossible for him to recover his marriage properly and change his behavior unless he gives up the fame.

I am sad for Joshes wife Anna. She is surrounded by people who have no idea what they are dealing with. I read that not only was he on Ashley, but also on okcupid, porn sites and who knows what else. Annas response has been that its her fault she didn't understand the trials & pressure poor Josh was under & will work harder at being a good wife & doing what he needs. She will not divorce him no matter how much he abuses her or her children.... They have no idea how to affair proof their marriage.... Which means this is going to happen over & over!!!! I know none of us are perfect but its this kind of attitude that gives me a sick feeling in my stomach. It is all focusing on him and not Her pain, Her betrayal... the crushing feeling she is going through.... Anyhow: I am glad honestly that this is coming out so BS can find out the truth of their life.

Unfortunately, it will get to the point that she'll eat so much pain that she'll eventually walk away. It is horrible for her, I agree. When you have no control over someone else's actions, it's natural to try to figure out what you can do to make things better.

In addition to doing the obvious, Josh also brought scandal to the Church and played into the worst stereotypes that non-believers have about Christians. Having said that, forgiveness and repentance is always possible and I wish that for him. I also feel very much for his poor wife and family who are suffering greatly. In other news, I've heard the CEO of Ashley Madison has resigned. Good riddance. I've also heard multiple lawsuits have been filed against the company. With any luck, they will go under. You know we live in a twisted world when Christian bakers can be prosecuted for not making a cake for a gay wedding, but Ashley Madison and Planned Parenthood can operate with impunity. Alright, rant over.

So we will probably see a tv show or Oprah interviews from it Josh (the one who had the AM profile) is the son of Jim Bob Duggar (he is the father of 19 kids and the show on TLC). I really wish you'd get your facts straight, before you start ripping on the wrong person.

I kind of wish you'd taken the time to get your facts straight before maligning everyone else in the family. The other 18 kids and the parents don't deserve what you said about them or to be condemned for Josh's actions. I met Jim Bob Duggar earlier this year and he seemed like a very nice man, not that you can tell much from a single meeting. Michelle Duggar has been one of my models on how to speak to children since going through anger management. It is interesting that so many people unfairly criticize her for her gentle and soft spoken manner then turn around and pass rumors that Jim Bob is a hot head. You can't win for losing. To call them homosexuals and fakers was really below the belt. And it turns out you didn't even really know who you were talking about at all.
