I have a traveling job. It keeps me away most of the time. This is no way to conduct a marriage. There is very little point fighting for this marriage, and then trying to rebuild it, if this is the way you live. You can't have a meaningful marriage when you are away most of the time. Your wife didn't get married to be separated from her husband most of the time.

Who actually knows of her affair? Does your children know?
Was the OM married? Who is the OM? How did she meet him?
Her mom and siblings, our oldest child, a couple members of my family, and a few of my friends Who is the OM? Is he married?

Yes people know of the affair and I have a traveling job. It keeps me away most of the time. There is really no way to make this work without changing the situation so that you are never apart overnight.
