Between being depressed and realizing that the OP was tiny and petite, I have lost allot of weight. (80 pounds so far since April) I feel so much better and want to loose another 40. The problem I have is now I have skin that is loose and hangs and is very ugly. Does anyone have advice on something that can be done?
When we filled out the EM questionnaires, he didn't put physical appearance as being important to him at all. I am totally shocked since I was 100+ pounds overweight!
Thanks,
Le

Hi MF,
Yes, it's been dubbed the "IWLP" (Infidelity Weight Loss Program).
I too lost several lbs, and almost everyone on this board who has gone thru this has experienced the same.
Take care of yourself and eat healthy foods when you do have an appetite, but most importantly drink lots of fluids.
As far as the skin thing, I would say exercise might help.
God Bless,
Jo

Lost 30 pounds. I am familiar with diet plan. It consists of "my world is falling apart, who cares about food, work, anything".
Maybe my wife nicked my stomach a little while ripping my heart from my chest.

You bet! I have lost 25 pounds. And I have at least 25 more to go. I had started an exercise program about 2 weeks before dDay and was sort of trying to eat better. After dDay my stomach rejected food for almost a week - a jump start to a diet! The face-saver is that I had started the exercise before the Dday so WS knows that I didn't do it "just to get WS back." I'm really grateful. Read a book by Joyce Vedral if you like - she talks about certain exercises to put larger muscles under certain droopy skin areas - like above knees.

If it is available in your area try doing water aerobics. The water excercise program works wonders!
Sadly for me, I lost then gained weight. I think it is maybe becasue of the meds I was taking but not sure-it hasn't fallen off yet.
Congratulations on the weight loss

40 lbs. on the Infidelity Diet. Now I want to lose maybe ten more.
I've always heard that with significant weight loss, like 50 lbs and up,the best way to deal with the skin problem is surgery. I sure would consider it, esp if you're trying to lose even more. But wait until you're down to your desired weight.
Snow

I lost 15 pounds after discovering wife's affair and I wasn't overweight to start with. After a few months gained my weight back. Now am over by 5 or 10 pounds but still reasonable weight. Affairs are great for weight loss plans.

I went from 204 lbs down to 171 lbs in about 3 months. Now I'm back in the 180's and I feel good. My W lost about 15 also, but that could be to look better for OM (..just the cynic in me!!!).
sad dad

YES....it's been 10 weeks since D-Day and i am down about 40lbs. You simply can't eat, work, sleep...do anything normal. I am sure it's the same for most WS.
I do look better...even WS has commented how nice i look now. Would like to lose another 20 and then maintain...but would gladly put it all back on to get WS from the fog !!!
Sad Daddy

Thanks everyone! I have started lifting weights but haven't seen much results yet. I've been doing it for about 8 weeks. I have gained muscle, but my skin doesn't seem to be tightening any. I have the idea of surgery, but it sounds like it may be that only option. Maybe I'll get the b**bs done at the same time! If he decides to leave again, at least I'll be looking hot for someone else! NOW-NOW that wasn't nice was it! I am just ready for the fog to lift! SOON!
Thanks again,
Le

Moving Forward,
I have lost about 30 lbs in the last two months. That becomes expensive after a while. Hehehe! I went from a 36 to 32 in the waist. Where I work, I have access to a gym 24/7 so I have kept myself in pretty good shape. Been trying to lose my gut for months and after D-day I got my wish! Guess you better watch out what you wish for! You just might get it!
On the skin thing, I have a friend that had surgery to lose weight. He was 150 lbs overweight and was explained by his Dr. that skin is elastic and will expand and contract.
He gave him a exercise program after the surgery and his loose skin is to a minimum.
He has lost 120 lbs and very little lose skin except for a little in his belly.....

RN

I've lost 22 pounds in 2.5 months. I joined ' "Curves for Women" to help me a month before everything came to a head and H told me either I lose weight or he'd divorce me. Little did I know the PA had already started. When A became apparent I think the Infidelity Weight Loss program worked. Now I am thinking I want to lose it for my own self and I'm also thinking that I will probably never be what H wants anyway. I fear I won't be able to live up to his expectations no matter what I do. He has been supportive in me losing the weights, says he wants to save the marriage and have it work, etc....but still maintains contact with OW, thus giving me mixed feelings. I suspect that my love bank will be drained by the time this is all done and it won't matter by then.
OW is petite and tiny. OW is a lawyer. OW is deeply in love with him, OW can converse on matters of the universe, etc. etc, etc..........me? I'm chopped liver. I think the only thing I've provided him with is three fabulous children who play a huge role in this entire saga.
Mikkey

17lbs in 3 months. Probably will put it back on if I ever get to feeling better about everything, don't know if that will ever happen though...hope not, kinda like my new weight. (I weigh less than the OW now...that's kinda a plus
