Hello,

My husband and I have enthusiastically agreed to start widening our 2.5 year old diet.

However the other day he told me he was going to pick raspberries at his mother house, and told me he didn’t think she was going to be there.

She was there, and his mother offered our daughter cake and he allowed it, knowing that we agreed not to feed her such refined sugar.

We have allowed her ice cream twice, once for the first time every and once at a work function where we both discussed it and where present and agreed together.

When told my husband how disappointed and upset I was about his mother feeding out daughter cake he said it was t a big deal and the cake his mother made alright.

How do I express myself in this situation? I feel like when he is with his mother our decisions are not up held but he goes along with her decision.

I know why she wants to feed her cake because it make my daughter like her and has short term gain but limiting sugar is really in our daughters best interest especially while she is young and especially while we easily can as she is not in school.

Thanks for you thoughts

Hello,

I am most bothered by my husbands response when I mentioned I was not happy about him allowing our daughter to have cake.

He told me to relax and his mother’s cake was healthy.

I was rude and dismissive.

Do you think he isn’t enthusiastic about the limiting of sugar? I know his mother has been an area of sensitivity in the past
