Tonight I light a candle
For all the souls that have been stolen
For all of the familys whose grief
Will be a lifetime of tears
For all of the soldiers who may have to leave their familys
And for the sinners who may not know their crimes
Tonight we shall all say precious prayers
Of hope and faith and peace
To maybe help the healing
Of this nation's pain and grief.
For even if this world falls apart tomorrow
The True Maker will be there to ease our endless sorrow.
And so we have came together at last
Helping, praying and loving more than ever~
I know this poem does not rhyme very neatly, but it is just something to maybe fill your hearts and hopefully you will see that I care deeply for you, even though we have never met. Peace and Love will prevail~ Goodnight
A little western girl who knows no wrong
Sways to the music of a muslim song
The beat makes her laugh and her toes tickle
the floor
Until daddy turns off the radio and slams the kitchen door
A group of young men flee their house one late night
They steal into the corner store like warriors on some great plight
For manhood, for their country, they claim to take all they can hold
The poor muslim man shivering in fear, afraid he may not see his family grow old.
Terror is filled in the hearts of young men
Armies tell children to hate all Americans.
They know nothing better but to listen to lies
With their heads wrapped in guns and cloths bound on their eyes
The tiny little Afghan children were convinced from an early time
That we do not belong in God's Land and should be punished for all crimes
We sin by living here, and are living in sin
This is a war I fear no one will win.
Hate inspires darkness and fills our minds with blank fear
No longer do we contemplate life, but only why we are here
What is the purpose of living if terrorists can bomb our land?
So many more people are dying, in the land of Afghanistan.
A life for a life, so it seems, they will pay
And then will we have enough blood for a day?
Will revenge feed the hungry bellies of this nation?
Or will we turn back for more, until we destroy all of creation?
What will inspire us to love more than just their song
Where a little girl sways and doesn't know of the wrong
Her daddy screaming from the kitchen, her mommy soothing her tears
Can a bomb bring back redemption and silence America's fears?
(I don't think so.)
Carina

[This message has been edited by carina dream (edited September 24, 2001).]
