What truth is God revealing in each one of us today? Today He is revealing to me that there is a reason He works the way he does. And why I have to remain patient and trust him.
TTSMM,
I remember witnessing to someone I didn't know once. After I left him, I got this feeling that God was proud of me. Nothing came of it immediately, but I guess I'll know fully when I get to heaven

quote:
Continue to pray for your wife - she'll come around eventually - remember, not in OUR time, but his... ...Keep on doing what you're doing. It WILL pay off eventually.

Wise words. I love animals and have on a couple of occasions found one abandoned or sick. When you take a creature like this in, you can't immidiately feed it solid food. I can't chew well or cannot digest it properly. So I start out giving it lifegiving water. Sometimes through a dropper or my finger (just dip it in the water and touch it's tongue or lips). All the while making attempts to touch it in a loving manner.
The situation is similar to that of our WS; separated from God, surrounded by the enemy and maybe even nose deep in the muck and mire. We cannot just say to them come on out. They can't, even if they know it's the best thing for them. The need to have the briars taken out and the tar removed. The sad truth is they have become so acustomed to the ick, they want to cling to it. This is where God comes in. He starts to remove the stuff they cling to. A little at a time; and he feeds them a little bit of water through a dropper (That's us BTW; by our actions, not our preaching. And the people we pray for to come into their lives). Pretty soon we start to see the changes. Not drastic ones, but little ones.
Like this morning. The first time in years in front of me during out prayer time this morning, she thanked God for bringing me into her life.
so be like Mary the mother of Jesus "hide these things in your heart" and write them down in your journals to look back at later for time when the enemy want to get you discouraged.

quote:
I think as long as the adults (at least one sane adult) teaches the children unconditional love & forgiveness, the children will have an easier time adjusting to the new situations that arise. Yes, they're going to need to talk about it sometimes. Yes, they're going to need to pray with you for patience, but as long as they know that God hears their prayers, and wants to comfort them too, they will be okay.

Amen to that DZZZ!
Bless you all today.

S&C,

Do they have muck and mire in Hawaii? Nose deep is deep indeed!!!
Now to be serious. This morning on Dr Dobson's show, they had a guy similar to Jimmy Evens who had a talk aimed at women in understanding their differences from men. A lot of misunderstanding is incorrectly labeled abuse, and he explains why. I know you can get a audio tape, maybe a transcript or video. It was an hour long and it would be excellent for anyone. Even better if you aren't yet married. He was addressing women at some huge gathering in Colorado, I believe. The web site is family.org.
OK, S&C, I know it's coming. Let me have it!!!!!

sg, "Get off my airhose. You beast." Inside joke if we are talking about the same show. Part two was today on Focus on the Family. I think I will belistening to that one again and again. Too bad my W won't Earlier this week, Dr Dobson also had on a two-parter on being a good father, Godly Father. Excellent....Excellent. Below are the links to both broadcasts. If you have Real Player of Windows Media Player, so can listen to them on your PC. Focus on the Family Broadcasts ArchivesToday's broadcast, Part two of what sg mentioned above, will appear ont his site tomorrow. If you visit this site at a much later date, here is the info (not links) so you can find them: 12/9/2003 - Tuesday Essentials of a Healthy Home, Part 1 12/10/2003 - Wednesday Essentials of a Healthy Home, Part 2 12/11/2003 - Thursday Respect: A Marriage Essential, Part 1 God's Blessings, TTSMM Respect: A Marriage Essential, Part 2 Friday, December 12, 2003

ttsmm,
Thanks for making it easy by putting up the link. Do you think there is a video available?
Also, most people call themselves born again christians. You use the term born again catholic. Is there something we don't know???

Yeah! That was the best sermon I have ever heard on this topic!
I heard it last month on Dobson's site. All this month I think they are doing repeats of the "best of the best" and it's no surprise that they would repeat it.
H and I listened to it a couple times. Opened my eyes big time!!
I even made a whole thread about it last month on the emotional needs board ..... I had the link there too... I can't find it now but that's ok, no one really responded much (other than a hand ful of Christians) so nothing much came up on that thread anyway....
I wonder too if there is a video. Wouldn't that be a cool gift to give a couple for an engagement gift? (now you know what your getting from us Singleguy! LOL)
Anyway, happy weekend everyone!
You are all precious to God. And I "sorta" like some of you too!

Boy would that make an interesting chat. All we need is some Canadian influence and we'll be all set.

The marriage retreat is Weekend to Remember by Family Life. It's Valentine's Day weekend in Hershey, PA. Is this one & the same? I didn't see who the speakers are but it is run by Dennis & Barbara Rainey.

I like the idea about a chat room. We should all meet somewhere like on yahoo or something at a specific time and chat with each other. Lift each other up. Unless someone else has a suggestion. Or we could have a Bible study there. Anything to gather in His name at one specific time. What do you all think?

SFM, No, it'ss in Quakertown. I guess I can understand there bring more than one marriage and love conference during Valentine's weekend. But more than one in PA, come on
Also, if youtake a look at the "Purpose Driven Life" post, we (sg, ll, lnc & ttsmm) had weekly phone calls (about an hour plus). This was through a telconf number. If you use 10-10-220 it would only cost you ~$3-4 for an hour. I would like to start this call up again after the holidays.
God's Blessings, TTSMM

Trying,
I'm looking at the pamphlet in front of me & there's one in Allentown at the Holiday Inn in Lehigh Valley from Feb 27-29 and one in Hershey from Feb 13-15 at the Hershey Lodge & Convention Center. Maybe it's a different one than the one you're talking about? Love ya!
I had forgotten about those phone calls. Sounds like a plan!

SFM,
Weekend to Remember is the same one my W and I attended the last two years. Got some good stuff; a Date night and everything. Best if you can stay in the hotel the conference is held if you can.
Bless you.

Everyone, I could use your prayers. Awhile back I developed pnuemonia in my left lung, approx 12 days ago. Some days are rough. I keep losing my voice and it may be gone as long as four hours at a time. Today I am feeling much better, and feel it may be lifting. Please pray that my lungs have no damage. Thanks

Father, look over Your child, singleguy. Protect him from all illness. You have placed before us a Godly man who brings forth wisdom through Your Word, keep him safe. We ask this through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

I stand in agreement with this prayer. God, continue to bless singleguy with the words of wisdom that you so graciously bestow upon him. May your healing touch bring him into full recovery so he can continue to spread your word through words of wisdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.

ttsmm and standing,
Thanks for your prayers. I feel ten times better than yesterday, and I have no soreness in my chest and my bronchial tubes are open. By tomorrow I should be as hornery as an old canadian hockey player!!!!!!!! I am blessed to have you as friends.
ttsmm, I have a book called "Halley's Bible Handbook". It goes into great detail about every chapter in the bible, including Revelation. It also tells the history of all the popes, and the crusades, and so forth. It tells how to be a good bible reader, and how to be a good church goer. My neighbor lady gave me one years ago. The other nite I told her about how you were confused about the book of Revelation, and she mentioned that book. Be sure to read the other book I mentioned.
Father God, I lift Marie up to you this morning, and ask that You would speak to her heart Lord. Tell her that You are a God of forgiveness, that You are a God of unconditional love, that You are a God of reconciliation, that You are a God of restoration. Father, I ask that You overcome anything that she may use to block out Your voice. Call out to her with Your song of love that You have written especially for her. Show her Lord that You are a God of mercy and grace, and that You will restore what the locusts of sin have destroyed. Let her see that this sin was NOT committed against her , but against You Father. Show her that trying has seen the error of his ways, and that he has sought the Almighty God for repentence and forgiveness. That he truly wants to make up for what he has done. That he will be a good father, a great father, because now he knows the greatest Father of all. Show her Father in a way that there is no doubt that it is You. I beg You Lord to give her a very special experience with You today, one that changes her life forever. Make her our sister in Christ Lord. Don't let her get away. Time is short and we ask that You would call her to salvation. Because of what Your Blessed Son Jesus did on the cross for us all, we ask these things in His precious name. Amen
