To all who've been so kind and said prayers:<P>My folks are even as we speak on their way back home. (Hoo-f***ing-ray!) Stepdad was in the hospital SIX DAYS (left just a few hours before Larry Linville of M*A*S*H died at the same hospital).<P>His last scan was today, and it's definitive: It's recurrent thyroid cancer in the lung, and the radioactive iodine is doing its wonders. Prognosis: Good. He has to come back in 3 months.<P>Mom was impossible, as expected, but we weathered the storm.<P>Dragon Lady was not at the party while we were there, but was expected to show up after the "serious drinking" started. When told she was coming, H acted as if he didn't know. That crowd is pretty heavy-drinking, and he made some comments about "[DL] is getting too old to be doing that stuff". <P>We left at around 6 to go to our hotel, order room-service dinner, and have our own party. <P>So we've emerged from all this INTACT.<P>The only down side is that H wants to have another barbecue this summer. I will have to find a way to ask him not to go off alone, particularly into bedrooms, with DL. <P>But I will fall off that bridge when I get there.<P>
