Hi NB,
So sorry to see you on this board. I hadn't seen any posts from you in awhile and was hoping for the best for you too.
Even after all that had happened between me and my ex (my oh-so-obvious anger at the divorce too), there was still a little part of me who couldn't imagine my life without my ex in it somewhere.
That is, until just a few weeks ago. My ex called me, it was wierd, but I didn't feel anything. He said stuff I know he didn't mean, like he wanted to stay in touch after I moved. He clearly called me on some false pretense. I'm just so tired of that. Tired of reading between the lines and being the one to take all the risks.
Anyway, I e-mailed him and told him I wouldn't be sending him my forwarding address when I go to FL to work for a few months. I'd be surprised if I ever heard from him again, cause he's not the type to take a risk, or exert himself much. Oh well. He'll find someone new in no time and probably have no problems forgetting I ever existed. That is the way he is.
I am thankful we didn't have kids together. I feel so bad for people who have to see their exes with someone else.
The good news is that I passed my PhD qualifiers last week (which was probably the hardest thing I've done in my life, except for marriage that is). At least one good thing has come of all this.
JL,
just saw your post. Did ya hear that? I'm officially "in". They gave me the grilling of my life, but I made it. I'm still going off to work for a few months. Decided that I really need to go off and find a safe place to finish licking my wounds near friends and family, save up some cash, and get my second wind for the dissertation. You've been a big help to me, friend.
I have my days where I'm still hurt and angry, but decided this weekend that I'm going to start praying for forgiveness
[This message has been edited by TheStudent (edited April 09, 2000).]

Hi Student,
Yes, I'm staying away from here much of the time... I go through spurts where I selfishly need support, so I come, post, offer some support and then don't come back for awhile...
Nice to see you, even under these circumstances! And BIG congrats on the qualifiers... soon to be Dr. Student!!
------------------
~Sheryl
Nobody knows what you want except you, and nobody will be as sorry as you if you don't get it. ~Barry Manilow
[This message has been edited by new_beginning (edited April 10, 2000).]
