Oh come on now, you all don't want to stay with me? Can you say "DREW SAD [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] LOL
Seriously here is my take Cinderella/Jane-Elise and Gina! In planning events in my past, no money will be needed to reserve a block of rooms, at least not here in Omaha. Now what DOES need to be decided is the cost of the rooms for 2 nights! I have NO problems at all with sharing...though I take up a lot of room so may not be good at sharing a bed! Sorry just a big guy...NO SNORING PLEASE...LOL
I think that we'd need rooms, a general gathering room, wouldn't have to have the continental breakfast, but would be good if we could...Pool...did I hear POOL...that is a MUST!!! Indoor of course in January!
May have to have transportation of some short for those of us NOT driving! This is all stuff that we can share in with the cost. reserving something like that may require a deposit!
Rooms should NOT cost a dime to reserve I wouldn't think! Have to see though! I would check with a few different places. And if possible could have a place close to the fun stuff...walking distance!
Just idea's!
Drew [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Not stupid crazy by anymeans, just fun...hahahahahaha
Take care...hopefully Gina we will have MORE when I check back in with you all on Monday
Good start though with 7 ladies and 5 men! if there is an odd man out, I will venture out and give you ladies the sad puppy look and see if I could have at least a corner of your floor to pitch my tent on [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Can you tell I only have about 30 mintues of work left for the week as of this writing...I am SOOOOOOOOOO Ready for the weekend in the Desert Heat, Meeting up with a couple of buddies I haven't see forever...Look out Phoenix...RED Drew is coming...hahahahaha
Drew [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

I'll take a single room, no sharing, please.
mid range on the rates, but not afraid to go higher; I think we need to pamper ourselves a little, the good guys in the marriage race.
I also want to explore nashville a little, not knowing anything about it, it sounds like a place I can take my teenagers to explore instead of always going to a beachy area.
I will stay through monday if there are sufficient places of interest, and I haven't seen much of it.
sorry if that cramps the car offer, but once I get somewhere I want to explore it for the future. (not like saying I've been to chicago because i switched planes at o'hare.)
thl

711,
Oh god, me? I don't think I could handle seeing so many happy people in one place. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Thanks for the offer though. Maybe I'll change my mind when the time gets closer.
Nashville is only a few hours drive, I know.
I presented at a ASME conference there last year, held at some HUGE hotel near Opryland. The thing has a river running through it, and people ride around in boats. All of this is indoors. I'm not kidding. It is like Disneyworld. You folks have to check it out.
I just skimmed back over the posts. It is the Opryland Hotel I'm talking about. This isn't just any hotel, folks. The conservatory is a good 5 stories high. There are 3 different areas in the conservatory. It takes a good half hour to walk all the way around it. Alot of the rooms have patios that look out over the "river" and the lush foliage. I was there when it was decorated for X-mas, and it was something else. Even if you don't stay there, you really need to go check it out. Hmm. Still trying to decide. If I can manage to keep my evil twin away for the weekend, I might go.
[This message has been edited by TheStudent (edited August 17, 2000).]

TS: Just think of all the stimulating conversation we can have on the way. I won't have to spend so much time on the computer.
Actually, don't officially count me in yet. I'm still not sure I can make this trip.
I'll let you know when we get down to making the reservations.

[This message has been edited by 711 (edited August 17, 2000).]

Hi guys,
I was out of town yesterday, so I wasn't around to reply.
THL - [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] I'll let you know about the ride thing, and as far as a date, you better watch who you're calling YUK pal!!
I already know Mitzi, and that comment for meeting stranger people BEST not have been about me!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I suppose we would need to determine who will want single rooms, and the list could grow a great deal by the time we get as far as November. I will share a room with someone, preferably someone who does not call me YUCKY, those who read my prayer post for daughter, know what I'm talking about, thanks again THL! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
OK call me stupid, I'm coming from Western NY, how long of a drive is this going to be??
As far as the date goes, that is the date my STBX piece of crap H decided to come home, then NOT come home, then show up at my house with OW, police, car chase, beat down in the driveway,....you get the picture. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] So I am looking forward to getting out of this place for a while !!
The date is going to be OK for me. I am leaving my kids home, an idea for those with kids... a sort of babysitting co-op, depending on how many women go and how many kids, maybe 2 of the women can take turns watching a few of the kids at times. Just a thought.
I am sure THL would love to drive me and 3 incredibly intelligent, beautiful little charming angels that act just like their mommy [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] , on a drive to Nashville, But Taylor would tell you that YOUR the YUCKY ONE!
However, I'm planning on tearing up that town so I'm leaving the kids home.
I am going out of town again late tonite and won't be back til late Sunday. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
As far as I go, the date is fine, the location is cool, I don't know that I need a really fancy room, a pool would be cool, continental breakfast, I think either way, and depending on how many people go, maybe we can get some kind of group rate??
Oh and what a group it will be [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
[This message has been edited by DanaB (edited August 18, 2000).]

Hi,
I too would probably opt for my own room, never know what could happen - I wouldn't want to leave anyone holding the bag financially if I had to back out at the last minute.
It is nice to have something to look forward too, a mini-vacation with adults. Leaving on the weekend for a well-deserved week at the beach with my boys. With as many days that I seemed to survive hour-to-hour, day-to-day, its hard for me to believe that over three years have passed since my mess began. Three years with no vacation, never had the time or the money. Life is finally normalizing!

I do plan on coming/going esp. if it's here and I do lots of planning. I even plan on springing for a room. I'm not brave enough to open my house to this many strangers. I have no where to put you. Unless someone had more money than they knew what to do with and wanted to give, note give, me that 8 bedroom, 8.5 bath house I saw advertised. If we shared rooms, I might could but us all in there.
The Opryland Hotel is incredible. TS is right. It's amazing, superb, outstanding, serendipitous, all those other superlative adjectives. I, though, really hate to spend half of $150 for a hotel room assuming I shared one. For me that's not realistic. (This woman has champagne tastes and a tap water budget - not even a beer budget.)
I've already started hunting for information. Will pass on info about hotels, restaurants, etc.

Count me in too!
This sounds like a lot of fun... I've never been that far east, and I'd love to go to Nashville!
I'm fairly easy going on the date... just let me know & I'll be there. I guess I'd prefer a single room too.... I snore & smoke, and I'd hate to have someone sleeping in the hall because my snoring was keeping them awake! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Well, I'm off to the airport.... and to a sunny beach in LA for the weekend! See ya'll Sunday night!
Smooches,
Butterfly

Dana,
Western NY [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] That's an extra day's drive and I would have to sleep over, and I think I will let Delta drive. That way, I won't be in a rush, and won't kill myself driving, I think I just hit my limit of speeding tickets. I just got two tickets, both 25 mph over the speed limit, (stupid speed limits, how come germany has the same cars and higher speedlimits?) That's $400 i speeding tickets in three months.
but I love to drive. the first cop ask me for my drivers license, registration and my PILOT'S license.
chances are I would be tempting fate to drive, so i will graciously back out.
thl

I am thinking of flying myself, depending on the cost. Anyone who is interested, I believe www.priceline.com offers discounted plane fares.

Nashville?
Guess I'll look on a map,and see exactly where that's at!(blond,remember?)

And here I was thinking we should give a fair chance to other MB members, like Bonnett.
So,we could always meet in Sydney,Australia.
Besides,I hear there's like 10 women for every man there.I shouldn't have any problem getting a,er,....a backrub!
Just a thought!
Well,I'll have to wait and see.I have a pretty tight schedule.
You know,Student,
If you showed up,we could have a serious discussion on Isotherms.Besides, what makes you think everyone would be happy?
We'd probably stand around, mad as he11,trashing our STBX's or X's,as the case may be.
Now,wouldn't that be fun! Not only do I live in Nashville but my x does also. We could go over and do a little counseling session with his, by then, new w and see if she knows what she's really in for. Does she know he's sexually anorexic? Well, maybe not the first few months. LOL!!
Anyway, I've started gathering information. I'll start posting it as soon as I have enough to share. Hopefully within a week or so.
Gina has offered to help. Yea!!!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Cinderella,
Ok,I get it.It's in Nashville,cuz that's where you live.This was all your idea,right?
Just teasing(who,me?).
Hey,here it is on my big map. But,it's off to the side of the US.A more central location would probably be........OMAHA!

Isn't that where the Drewster hangs out?
I don't think there's much to do there, though.Only thing I know about Omaha,is they have a big insurance company there.
So,what all is there to do in Nashville besides listen to singing cowboys? Murphy,
I'd like to forget those Isotherms. That class was a nightmare. Little 'ol ME (mech. engineer) surrounded by CHEM-E's. I was soooo lost. Do I reeeeally need to know about all those darn electrons and molecules? Ick. I'm flattered that you remembered though. On to Electronic Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD). I'll be using that system this fall. I'm just finishing a 17 page Fortran program to do some analysis. My ex was a software engineer. Being divorced from him has forced me to be the programmer I never wanted to be, but that is ok. It is one of those skills that comes in handy these days.
How are your doggies? The fence is (mostly) done on the new place and my "chill-en" just love it. Just the fenced in part is about 70 ft. by 40 ft. It's been hotter than heck here though. I've heard that dogs love Seattle. My parents have a Cairn Terrier that is in heaven when he is there. No fleas, cool temps. If I do come, I haven't decided what to do with my dogs. I haven't found anyone reliable to take care of them, and I refuse to put them in a kennel. Being a border collie mix and Aussie mix, they would go insane in a cage all day and night.

Hey Student,
WHOOSH!!! That was the sound of your first paragraph going over Murph's head!(no,really,I'll tell you all about those Isotherms!)

Been out working on the old house, you know.
Once in a while,I just drop in to check my mail, and maybe the board.Glad you stopped by.I was just getting ready to go help my folks out.

BTW,have you heard about Boeing moving depts.and people all around? Who knows who is safe there anymore.Your dad can probably tell you about it.What does he do there?
That's sounds like a good size pen for your poochies.Well,we do have fleas here, but some years are better than others.I've been lucky in my neighborhood. But there was a couple years,it was terrible.

They have this large off-leash park up by Redmond where my cousin Bill G.lives that's great for dogs(and people).Lots of socializing going on.There's some good trails close to me,where I can let him off to run, too.
I know,I don't like to kennel him, either. There is one close by that's not too bad.but I'm going to look around for a better one, cost is no object.
Well,I'm off,again!
Catch ya later,Student(no,you can probably run faster than me...)

~~Murph [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Hi Ya'll!
Wow! I'm tentatively scheduled to be in Nashville in late January to do some studio sessions on the 5-string banjo. Can I crash the party?? I'm not getting divorced, but I've grown awful fond of a lotta you guys! Maybe me, W and D could stop by and pick ya'll a tune or two. Warning: We do Bluegrass.....which folks either LOVE or HATE....would we run anybody off with it? Oh wait, I could bring my Fender Telecaster, I do an AWESOME Johnny Cash imitation! Everybody loves Johnny, right?
Cinderella: Great idea! We could all go over and "counsel" your X and save big bucks on lodging. Could ya call over to the city jail and see if ya can reserve adjoining cells for that weekend?
The Student: Wow! Meeting you would be AWESOME. Ummmm, the chill-en, what to do about the chill-en?....I got it! My W has a stand-up bass fiddle. I bet we could smuggle em into the hotel in the fiddle case! Did ya know, hillbillies actually refer to that instrument as a "doghouse fiddle"....no kiddin! Whatcha think? Another thing, W could show you the basics of pickin bass in about a half hour and you could play for the MB'ers with us!
I only hope I wouldnt feel out of place talking to you and Murph....dont know about those isotherms and stuff. Heck, When I was in school this teacher tried to tell me pi r square. Who was she tryin to kid? Everybody knows pi r round.....cornbread r square!
This is neat, guys. I hope it happens!
Night everybody, God bless.
Bill
[This message has been edited by Xman (edited August 19, 2000).]
