Ya'll a room at the Opryland Hotel is like $150 a night and I can't afford even half of that. I'm not leaning that direction. Besides, if we stay there, all you'll see, more than likely is a great hotel. Do you want to see that or some of the city?
Let's see. What do you like to eat? I know manager of two resaurants on west side of town. We have pretty good blues venues. We have the Wildhorse Saloon where they sometimes have live music, sometimes records, big dance floor and good ventilation system. We have a historic district full of entertainment downtown. We have art museum on west side of town with one to open within the next year downtown. Country Music hall of fame is downtownish. That might be better place to be than Opryland. There is cool shopping at Opry Mills. But, again to you want to see a hotel and a mall? Downtown there is a Planet Hollywood and a Hard Rock Cafe. There may be NHL hockey that weekend. Don't know really where to recommend but I thinking of a place less upscale, after all we can go on field trips in mass or in smaller groups.
Still gathering information. I sort of need some ideas from ya'll.

Claire, Mitz & Dana....
Let's do the suite! We can bring our footy PJ's and a suitcase full of margarita fixens (I'll even bring a blender if we need one!) Or, even better.... if it's available... a whole floor of rooms (on one end) with all ajoining rooms... guys on one side of the hall, ladies on the other!
Student...
If your poochies are not too big, maybe we could sneek them in in a suitcase?!? Or, you could start training them to walk on their hindlegs, and we could dress them in overcoats & hats! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)
Cinderella....
Hockey???? I've never been to a hockey game... that could be fun. I'm game for just about anything, I love seeing new places! As for food.... I'm a little spoiled for Mexican, but some great seafood & local specialties would be great!
Too bad it's such short notice, or everyone could come to NM in Oct. The Balloon Fiesta is the first weekend of October... it's something to see. Hummmmmmmm.... (IDEA)... maybe next year we could all get together for that???
Gotta run...
B

So, how do I phrase this one to my rstbx?
"So sorry, but I must insist that you take charge of our wonderful offspring for the weekend.......perhaps you could stay at my residence until my return? I am off to a meeting of Internet Associates."
Or should I just say - "Hey, dufus - I'm flying to Nashville for the weekend to meet these people that I met on the Net - so grab your duds and take care of the kids 'til I get back, okay? If you don't want to stay with them I guess I'll ask the neighbors."
I though my parents were going to be around, but they decided that they were going to spend one more year being snowbirds. Dang parents - where are they when you really need them, I mean they've only supported me fully through my awful ordeal with dufus. So, I have to figure out what to do about accomodations for my guys before I can even think about getting tickets for myself.
Why am I so worried about appearing selfish? Because I know stbx will be giving me the business for doing this, that's why.
But, why should I care? Whaaaaaaa, I wanna go to Nashville!!!!! Maybe if I have a tantrum it would work.....but, who would listen and pay attention?
Oh, Oh, Oh!!! My older brother, a bachelor with no kids, no pets.....maybe he'd come for the weekend just to make sure the boys don't burn the house down!!!!!! Problem solved - maybe -

I got a kick out of the post that we'll have to have name tags with our MB names on them. I don't know everyone's name. ROFLMAO!!
I'm working on rooms. I think we all need to be at the same place. That's a nobrainer.
Rooms as close together as possible would be nice though some people will want no smoking rooms (I have to have one or I'll be on antibiotics for weeks due to a respiratory infection) while some haven't figured out that they need to kick their addiction to a known carcinogen. [I'm sorry but that habit seems like a really stupid one for anyone between the ages of birth and 85 to start.]
So, if you folks think it sounds wierd to tell your family and friends that you are going out of town to meet a bunch of internet friends, how do you think it would sound if I were to tell people that I'm trying to set this thing up? ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/shocked.gif) I'm about to burst to tell someone but I don't want to ruin my reputation. I think I may just tell people I have a meeting/conference to go to. I may just be out of town. Should I change jobs, I think I'll just tell them that I've got this meeting to attend. Let's see, could it be about internet technology? ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/tongue.gif)
Ok - about booking rooms, one place I talked to would allow me to reserve up to 10 rooms in my name and they would have to be cancelled at least 72 hours in advance if not used. If I needed to book more than that, it would have to go through group sales and I would have to sign a contract and make a deposit. My financial goal it to finish the month in the black. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/mad.gif) Forget money for other people's hotel rooms. Therefore, I am looking at telling whereever we stay that I need x rooms. Each individual would then be responsible for their own room. I would work with you if you wanted to share a room. I could help you find someone with a similar need. I can even tell the reservations people I need, say, 75% of the rooms to be double/doubles (two double beds) to make sharing easier.
I had thought it might be a good idea if we rented a 15 passenger van for traveling en masse (or however that is spelled). I don't want to drive. No experience with them. I'll be the navigator. I do know the man who manages two nice restaurants. (Do you know what a Belle Meade housewife [most prestigious neighborhood in the state] makes for dinner? reservations at the Brasserie]
How does that sound to ya'll??
Speak to me, oh ye party animals!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/grin.gif)

Cinderella,
right now, its early enough, lets let everyone make their own room reservations,
and after we decide, lets find out which floor is most vacant, and we can request that floor for non smokers, and one for smokers.
I am going to start a new thread on which hotel, but since this is a winter vacation for me, and me alone to relax and enjoy, and meet everyone in person, as well as to explore Nashville, I vote for the Oprey Hotel.
now, i know this is one the expensive side, but if some split rooms, and others get singles, then the rate is reduced to a reasonable rate.
I say lets make it a party, and go for it.
thl

I say RCoaster should find another babysitter and bring her brother!!
Still, the bigger this gets - the farther out of reach it gets for me. I'm an at-homer and don't get enough to pay the bills let alone do ANYTHING outside my house. I just need to think about this a little more. My neighbor told me she'll take the kids (she's a total angel). We'll see. I'd hate to miss seeing all the chaos and trouble this group could get in!
Another thread should be started for only serious for-sure attendees to post on so there is an on-going count (and make sure it is stated to ONLY POST IF YOU ARE GOING, otherwise they'll have to post here on this thread).
------------------
Kathy
[This message has been edited by weirded out (edited August 29, 2000).]

Well, I'm glad some other woman's radar went off when she heard about the single brother! lol
And you know, I would bet even the Opreyland has different sorts of rates, like AAA discounts, corporate rates, or maybe there are some airline types who could book a room to help out those who would truly be strapped? (OK, the amenities there appealed to me too) or maybe they will have some weekend specials?
I wouldn't be surprised too, if they had shuttles from the airport and back, so thats a savings...(OK the extras there REALLY appealed to me)
Well, I'm game for either way. Since I'll have free airfare by then, I could help out with some extra costs (don't get greedy on me here ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) ).
We could check out the rates for suites for 4 or 5 of us, it might actually be cheaper than splitting rooms between 2 people. I'm sure they have rollaways there..... or we could just smuggle extras into the rooms!
I like the nametag idea.... get a color printer and put representative pictures on them..... for Murph, someone will have to find a picture of Adonis or Mel Gibson (is there a difference???)!! Hidden clocks, , bugs, ammusment park rides, fairytail princesses, hummmmm..... this could be interesting! LOL
This is going to be great!!
B
PS ~ My raidar went off too!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/shocked.gif) Hey, Claire... does your brother play golf??? And Bill's worried about being the only guy at an all-girl weekend. HAH!
Wouldn't it be terrible, Bill, to be the only guy getting all the attention from all us love-starved women. HoneyWest, you bring the grapes. I'll bring the ostrich feathers. Mitzi, got any kinda oil laying around the house? ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) COULD BE TROUBLE, BILL.
Just kidding.
------------------

Kathy

I know, I know -
I've read your other posts and felt a little minxsy, so I teased you. Sorry. I must be reverting back to my younger, single years when teasing was a way of life. Oh ya, Cinderella, can you bring some handcuffs? You did mention handcuffs, didn't you, Bill. Again, sorry!!!
------------------

Kathy

Twister! I knew there was something I forgot. I don't have one, maybe we can count on Dana to bring it. Make sure to pack your thong bikinis for swimming and hot tubbing - unless, of course, that would bother you, Bill?
------------------

Kathy
