Well, I'm just worried that if I go back to Oz it makes it easier for him to serve papers on me. I need to know can he do it while he's not actually living there (in Oz) but I am?
I am quite concerned about this...he has a fly in his ear right now...telling him what to do. Well, she's the expert on S.A. law, she's been divorced three times!!!

I hate to interrupt this, but being thrice divorced gives her no more exclusive knowledge of divorce law than it gives her knowledge about maintaining long-term meaningful relationships.
I admire your strategy of preparing for the worst, but let's not give her too much credit! -Mike

Hi bear13lee,
here's what I wrote:
I wonder if there are any attorneys amongst us who know whether my husband can file for divorce in South Africa, or Mozambique, when we were married in Australia, and also if I'm not in South Africa...as I intend on going home by October. I am concerned he will do it if he is able, and I just want to be prepared.
We are here on a work contract, S.A requires a work visa for him and the family's temporary residents visas are dependant on that. When he goes to Mozambique next year, they have a different visa system, but it is still a temporary resident's visa.
I would appreciate some advice soon.
Thanks!
