Jacky,<p>Just wanted you to know that I read your thread.<p>I remember being in the hospital for about 8 days a couple of years ago - had a colon surgery - was supposed to be home in 3 days. The only good thing was I lost 12 pounds. My W abandoned me in the hospital. After the first couple of days, she didn't even come - just talked on the phone. I felt so helpless and alone. I was on the 7th floor and the helicopters landed on the roof on the 9th - just over my head. When I finally got home, It was so wonderful to be home. It was July - high summer here - and I sat on the front porch and just looked at all the GREEN - trees, grass - and I didn't hear and whirring pumps and beeping things or helicopters - just birds (and cars, of course). In the hospital, I could eat nothing. Second day home, we went to a Chinese restraunt.<p>I don't know what this has to do with you... sorry.<p>Anyway, I remember what it felt like to be so sick and weak and feel so useless. <p>But, it got better - and it will for you too.<p>-AD

Jacky = I've had my own periods of uselessness. <p>A shattered humerus while on vacation - hot air balloon crash in Alice. [img]images/icons/frown.gif" border="0[/img] <p>And maxillofacial surgery after which my mouth was wired shut for 6 weeks. <p>I don't know which was worse. Both left me sleeping sitting up for weeks. And we were without adequate cooling system in our house - southeastern part of the US in late spring (not a good thing) - when I had that lovely PLASTER cast. Not the fiber glass they have now. However those guys who set my arm did a great job even if they were in the middle of the outback. [img]images/icons/grin.gif" border="0[/img] <p>It's not fun. But, I invite you over to compare incisions with my kitten.<p>(Yup, we did get another one but we still miss Candy.)

Can I one-up?<p>The day I found out I was pregnant with Christopher the doc said get thee to bed.<p>I stayed there for almost 7 months.<p>2 of them in the hospital.<p>Talk about useless.<p>Does anyone know what Trandelenburg is? It is when they put the head of the hospital bed lower than the foot. Talk about a headache.<p>Elizabeth - champion martyr or is it maryter?<p>Just call me a f'in saint!
