Ex-Princess B -
I wish I would have seen this post earlier, I would have loved to help with the legal lingo. I read what you had and sounds good.
I know that court can be nerveracking - as I was just there yesterday, but you've got a great case! As long as you are polite to the judge - stand when addressed and be sure to say your honor, then every thing should be fine. And I really can't imagine the judge letting you proceed without legal representation - unless of course he/she is automatically ruling in your favor.
Sending more prayers to you. Good Luck! K

Well, it could have been worse.
I must have missed the part where I should have had a chance to say that I'd like to adjourn until I can have a lawyer present. We just sort of ... started.
The judge was not overly hard on me. Yes, I trespassed. Yes, I took things that were not mine. No, it didn't matter that I thought I was still on the property or that I thought I should be able to have my personal possessions. I should have went to him a year ago instead of taking matters in my own hands. Got it.
Now, the up side ... instead of awarding XH with $1000 for less than $100 worth of stuff, the judge told me I had to return it within 7 days. It isn't worth the $500 I'll have to pay if I don't return it, so no biggie. Lesson learned. XH has ZERO interest in these horse-related items, he wanted the money!!
Instead of awarding XH $1000 because I trespassed, he will get nothing.
Instead of awarding XH $1500 for his attorney fees, I am ordered to pay him $150.
Who lost today?
Prayer works, people. :}
