It appears that either most people are having absolutely horrible lives or we have stopped posting our good things for some reason. So I am starting a new post kind of where we left off last time.
This post, for you that don't know, is for us to look at our lives and try to find something each day that is good in our lives. GREAT BIG THINGS, or tiny little smiles. Doesn't matter. We are looking to find things that will help us to examine our day and find something good. We are also posting those things on here in order to try to help others see good things that might be happening in their days, but that they are overlooking.
Try to post only good things on this post. I think I became guilty of posting some bad things along with my good things on the old posting so I will try to be more GOOD this go around.
Please everyone, try to post something. It really helps to feel obligated to look for something good in your day, at least I believe so. Take this seriously and I think that you will feel better about your days than you have in the past. [ November 02, 2002, 10:15 AM: Message edited by: Formerly Confused ]

Yesterday...
Built a fire last night after having a cord of wood delivered to my house. Made smores and once again, laid on the floor with the lights off watching the fire until my boys fell asleep. Great night !!!

Good thing -
Feeling very self confident and in control of my life - at least for the moment, which has come because of property settlement with ex.
My 8 mo. old baby is a doll - always a good thing.
And my boys are - well I just can't decribe how wonderful they are, and it looks like I'll be able to stay home with them until the next school year at least - and that is a VERY GOOD THING.

You're so right. 8 month old babies are beautful. All plump rosey cheeks, and goo goo gaa gaa with big bright innocent eyes and flawless smooth skin. I bet she's the joy of your life. You are so blessed.

This is my first post on this thread but God has been blessing me this week. My best day was thursday.
The first thing that happened was I went to a Mens Power Lunch that is sponsored by our church. There is a different christian businessman that speaks each month and they give their testimony. This past thursday I got to witness a man get SAVED. It was one of those things that you were so blessed to be a part of.
The second thing that happened was a real blessing for me. During the luncheon the man that is running our singles dept. ask if I could come back to church and meet with him. During our meeting he was telling me the new direction he is praying for God to take the singles dept. It involves a tuesday nite praise and celebration service then breaking up into small groups and having bible study or specialty classes (finance, Experiencing God study, etc.) A church in atlanta is doing this and they have 3,000 singles. It is getting more personal with one another and really ministering to the people.
He told me he was looking for some key people to help do this. He was looking for someone with CHARACTER, CHEMISTRY TO GET ALONG WITH OTHERS, AND INFLUENCE. He told me God kept laying my name on his heart and he wanted me to pray about doing this. He said he had talked with my Sunday school teacher, who is also the senior adult minister,(he is one of my accountability partners who knows about my addiction, affairs, and recovery from them) and he highly recommended me. We have a large church so this is not a small thing that is going to happen.
The reason this is so important to me is when I had hit "Rock Bottom" I didn't have a stitch of " CHARACTER ". My wife told me more than once that I was a man of "NO CHARACTER" and the sad thing was, she was right. July 2001 is when I set out to build myself back up and change. Jan. 2002 is when I started really relying on God and changing who I was and who I wanted to be forever. I started building " CHARACTER ". It says in the bible that God will entrust you with little things and if you serve him well then he will trust you with more and more. I guess this is Gods way of saying "Good job. I am proud of the changes you made in your life and the direction you are going. I want to give you more".

Congratulations cajunky! How awesome to be asked to be part of something so meaningful. And to have God speak to you in such a specific way. Those moments are to be treasured! I'll pray that you will know God's direction for you in this.
I've had a pretty good day today; nothing overwhelming, just an incredibly beautiful crisp sunny day, and a significant lifting of the depression that was surronding me most of the past few weeks. It felt good to be alive again, and I felt as tho God was directing my attention to His love and goodness towards me, just in the simple everyday pleasures. Had a lovely dinner with a friend, and was out to a surprise b-day party with a bunch of friends. Life just felt good again, and I felt hope for the future. God is SO good! I would never want to be without Him ever. He's been my lifeline so often in the past few years. It's good to read of everyone else's good things.

Good things? I have a few....sold our jointly owned house...not closing untl March, but have the down and that alleviates some pressure for now.
I have decided to work to save my marriage. It may not be possible, but the decision is a good thing.
I am working on a software project for the ferry company for which I am, for now, a deckhand.
I have the best, tightest circle of friends any man ever had.
Will think of more for tomorrow...they are there.

They say laughter is good and it's healing for the soul... So, laugh a bit, I loved this joke... Hillary Clinton died and went to heaven. As she stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates she saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.
She asked, What are all those clocks?"
St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move."
"Oh," said Hillary, "whose clock is that?"
"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."
"Whose clock is that?"
That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have only moved twice, telling us that Abe only told 2 lies in his entire life."
"Where's Bill's clock?" Hillary asked.
"Oh, Bill! Bill's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceiling fan."

I have 4 things to be thankful for.
1.just finished painting my new (60s) home. Looks great & did it all by myself, even the textured walls.
2. older son went to church with his wife for the 1 st time.
3. Going to be a grandmother again baby due around april. 4. moving D from Al to Fl. child support will go up around $150 month, I can ask for longer spousal support. have the court make X pay for the back medical & school tution that was court order its around $700. when we go back to court I will have my d-papers listing A as the reason for our D. X bought MOW a car before we were D, its in both names, have fl vehicle registration with both names & fl address and account number from GMAC. We will ask the Judge to get his work pay records to make sure of income. Last time X only had to show what I now know was only part of his pay statement. This time I feel justice will be served. No more help from home town friends. If X can buy a M woman a car, take on a family of 3 children that are not his, he can afford to pay more childsupport for his only child.

OS had a 28 on the ACT, which will make up some for his awful grades.

28 is excellent Sing. Tell him congratulations !!
I took that thing about 20 years ago. I didn't even remember taking it, just got called to the office one day. The only time a guidance counselor talked to me. He gave me my grade and told me I should go to college. Well, I had always figured I would go to college and had always received really good grades. But truthfully, I didn't even remember taking the test really. I must have taken it and had no idea what it actually meant.
Well it meant getting into any college in the nation was what it turned out. Started getting letters from all over, wanting to give me scholarships. Guess they liked the idea of a poor country kid at their college.
That is a great score. Hope it opens some doors for him like ACT scores did me.

My first good thing today was that the Sun came out!! We have had grey skies for 4 days. I know some of you are wondering why that is such a big deal, but I live in Colorado where we almost always see the sun on a daily basis. When you get used to that sun, it really brings you down when you don't see it
The other good thing was that temp. was above freezing and I was able to wash the grime off my car.
One last good thing was D called to let me know that she survived the camping trip that she was required to go on this weekend and no one got hypothermia Still can't believe that college instructor had them camp in 8 inches of snow and sleep under tarps, not in tents. We got 2 inches of snow in town last night and got down to 17 degrees this morning.
Every one have a great week.

My youngest boy came running up to me yelling "Daddy !!! Daddy !!!! Daddy !!!" today when my wife dropped my boys off after work.
I tell you, I never get tired of hearing those little feet (not so little any more) pounding across the floor towards me. I used to come to the door after work and rattle the door handle so they would hear me and then both of them would race to see who could get to me first.
I do love my boys.

I suppose this is a good thing.
I am an ADD adult trying to parent a strongwilled d and an ADHD/ODD son. So serenity and calmness and patience are something I stuggle with.
So, tonight my children witnessed my x - not me - behave very inappropriately. I was the calm one and didn't over react. HE was the one who made the judgement error. And tried to explain it away.
So, I guess we have something to discuss for a while when we talk about making choices. Thank goodness it wasn't me.
(Doofus threw his keys at the 9yo son due to impatience.)

I'm Sure we can all relate with this one. Election Day is over and we won't have to watch or listen to anymore of those ads. YEAH!!!
My personal good thing today was I got e-mail from X this morning stating that he hadn't talked to D about the holidays and she won't answer e-mails or phone calls. Hmmm...I wonder why that would be? Maybe she finally sees how he has destroyed our family and how he has hurt everyone. The really good thing is that she called me on my cell on the way home tonight. Had a very nice conversation and then told me I LOVE YOU and I will talk to you later. I know this might not seem like a big thing but, X always made it look like I was the crazy one and that is why he had A. He supposedly told both kids about A right after D-Day. What was said I don't know but I think at least D realizes what he has done is not right.
Hope everyone has a good evening.

Good things from today:
I talked to the wonderful woman that I had a date with last Saturday. She's a nurse, so she has a crazy schedule, but it looks like we'll be seeing each other again this Saturday.
If things work out between us, I will have "out-punted my coverage," as they say. She's fantastic...way out of my league. If not, then I'm okay with that, too.
