Hope you all had a wonderful Thankgiving. I did too. Ate way too much... Need to go on a crash diet to burn of all the excesses. But how does one do that during the holiday season. Oh, oh woe unto me........

Looks like we have no takers for next weekend get-together in NYC. Wow!! Not even one. So do you folks have a suggestion for an alternate date in NYC. (I know Will Get Thru This is planning one in the PA area around Christmas). Any suggestions: Bramble Rose, Kily, Newly, Shepette, Not my Will,...

I could be in NYC on the 27th - maybe do a brunch or lunch? After that, anyone who wanted to could do something else ??? I don't know the city very well so don't know what to suggest.

AnyOne else ok for that time frame ???

Is there a better place than NYC???

The 27th or 28th could work for me either in or near NYC - I don't know the city well at all, only been there once about 3 years ago. But heck, I'm game to try anything new - this is a NEW adventure in independence - whew, I am in an up mood tonight!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> Will check back!!

Thanks for signing on to this thread. Would a get-together in New York City be too far for you? Stay tuned to this thread for more news....

WGTT and Broken x 3:

Thanks for putting out a date for a meeting. Dec 27 and 28 both days work for me. NYC is beautiful during the holidays, with a very festive look and it should be nice day out. How do you both plan to arrive in NYC (train, bus, car...)? I would probably take a train in..

I'll have to see which day or both days I can get off. I'm "chicken" to drive in the city ( I think) unless I have very specific directions and I think I'll take a bus. I'll look into it. Any suggestions would be welcome! Thanks!

Broken x 3:

I guess the bus from NJ will drop you off at Port Authority Terminal at 42nd Street. And the NJ Transit trains bring you to Penn Station on 34th Street. I agree with you that driving in NYC during the holidays could be quite a challenge. So taking a bus or train is not a bad thing.

I do not know how WGTT is arriving (again the train from Philadelphia would come into Penn Station).

Also calling on Bramble Rose, Kily, Newly, Shepette, Not my Will,... MAW64: Any chance some or all of you might join us in NYC? The more the merrier.......

broken x 3,

Would you be comming thru Phila area? If so, we could go up together. If not, maybe we could meet & go into the city together. I would feel more comfortable with someone else, it's been a long (looooooooooooong) time for me!

Gosh I wish I'd seen this sooner... I live in Central California, but my family is all back East: father in S. Maine, brother in S. Conn., and brother in Virginia near D.C. I just made reservations to fly to VA for Xmas week, could've stayed longer...

Anyone in central California....??? I live very near Yosemite if anyone wants to get together there....

Let'sTry,

When do you get into the VA/Dc area? I will be staying in Chantilly, VA & doing the DC thing for my YS.

Catamount: Thanks for signing on. Welcome aboard the MB NYC holiday get-together.

(WGTT, Brokenx3, Shepette, Catamount):
I propose an early lunch at Carmine's in the theatre district on Saturday the 28th, say around 11:30 AM. It's a family style Italian restaurant with great food and is reasonably priced and is in a terrific location. I could try and make a reservation for a party of 6 or 7, if you all agree (at present it seems we are 5 of us planning to get-together). It is also a short cab ride from Penn Station or Port Authority Bus Terminal and a short walk away from the Rockerfeller Center and the Christmans Tree. Any comments, agreements, disagreements, alternative suggestions........

Please come back on this thread with your thoughts on venue and date/time. Thanks all.
