You’re invited!
GreenGables & Newly have decided that we want to meet our friends on the boards. So we are proposing an MB night out in Philadelphia on Saturday, November 8th at Dave and Buster’s – where adults can enjoy great food, terrific drinks and the latest interactive games — all in one place.
Philadelphia: 325 N. Columbus Blvd., Pier 19 North
(215) 413-1951

Since we are all anonymous, we propose to meet at 5:00 pm at the bar nearest the entry door, also called the Square Bar.
Look for us wearing silly yellow post-its with MB on them.
Or, you can ask the person at the door to direct you to your group.

There are arcade games for children, but the website warns that guests under the age of 21 (legal drinking age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (a person 25 years of age or older who agrees to be responsible for the conduct and safety of the underage guests). Philadelphia location enforces a year-round 11 p.m. curfew for guests under the age of 21.

Directions are on the website www.daveandbusters.com.
There are a few hotels on Columbus Avenue within walking distance of the bar.

Aaaah, bummer,
Philly is too far away <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />
Only a 14 hour drive for me.
You could all come to my house and you wouldn't have to wear yellow-post-its?
May your gathering be wonderfilled.

I purposely chose a non-kid weekend, so I can stay over if I want to have fun and not have a long drive home.

Well, Hypatia, I suggest you plan something at your house for sometime in March-April, then. LOL.

Dear Green Gables and Newly:

Thank you for the invite, but Finland is a bit of a distance from Philadelphia. If you could hold your meeting in Iceland, I could meet you half way. (:

Oh, but don't you know, SIF? My daughters' school goes to Finland every year! When I'll be there in, let's see, 5 years!

It started as a hockey thing between the head of school and someone he knew in Finland. And it grew. I forget the name of the town we mostly reside in.

Outdoor Ice Hockey. Probably great if you play it. Not so pleasant for spectators though.

That’s right. We all go to Finland and visit Standing. And then, we can go to visit Moi Novelle who’s in England and Daisy who I guess is in France since her husband speaks French although she could be in Belgium or Switzerland. Oooh! What fun. And MB tour!

Now just give me about 3 years to save up for it.

Wow,
3 years?
You are sooo optimistic, dear Green.
That's why I like you,
You are optimistic.

*kissy face greamlin inserted here*

It would take me........
Hmmmmm......
lemme see,
Domestic Goddess, no income, well maybe the change that falls out of pockets in the wash. That would be ...

Hmmmm....
$1.10 perweek.
hmmm......
The "allowance" dear H so generously gives me every week?
hmmmmmmm.......
uuuummmmmmm......
creative math happening here.
aaaaaahhhhhh.....

Forget that one. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />

The graphics jobs I have out there, minus the expences for business supplies, minus the occassional ensemble should I desire to change out of these discarded husband-dress-shirts and jeans once in a blue moon, minus the occassional business lunch where I would wear the out dated ensemble, minus money to redo dearest step-daughter's room, minus the money to get me a new graphicly friendly computer and the programs, minus the occassional chocolate, minus......

Okay, that is.....
ummmm.....
hmmm...
um
ah
Gosh,
Forget that one too. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" />
Okay, at $1.10 per week...
how much the MB world tour cost?

forget that too. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
Drat.

PARTY AT MY HOUSE!!!!!!!
I can afford that
<img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
But what would we do w/ the not-so-MB-enthusiastic-H?
hmmm.....

DRAT!

We tell the not-so-enthusiastic-H that the party is to jump start a new marketing adventure! I’m in marketing, a creative director. (probably you should send me an e-mail.) Use the top-secret one. Newly isn’t really marketing, but we could pretend, and she works for a “publisher” as well. They need designers to design PDFs and printed material. Get enough of us, and you can write it off.

So, if you file jointly, your husband will SAVE money on a party as your house. Especially since we’ll all bring something.

I dunno. Ultimately, it depends on whether H. goes for parties or not. Besides, you're pretty respectful.
