zebrababy,
glad that you and hubby are making progress and are making decisions together. it really doesn't matter in the end what you decide, as long as you are both in agreement and are working as a team to make your marriage the best it can be. keep up the hard work!!
mrs. job and btdt,
mrs. job is right that it was me and H that got hit with back support. $20,000 of back support. we will be in debt to that forever, just when h starts making more money to be put toward the back support, OW will probably take us back and get a raise of the current support. like $630 a month isn't enough when you live in a house with 3 other adults, share the rent, live here illegally and don't pay taxes and make $1000 a month yourself, and LIE about the fact that you pay $280 a week in child care. but, she has to live with herself, not me. and we pay $75/mo for a child insurance policy.
get a consult with a lawyer and start saving some money now, the OC was only 3 1/2 years old and we were ordered to pay the $20,000 back support. at $125/month plus 10% annual interest, we will never catch up, it will take us our whole lives most likely. yuck.
happy_girl
for those who haven't been taken to court for cs, don't think it will just go away. do the research in your state. our states laws actually say that the support is from date of filing, but that is IF the couple was married or living together because they assume support was given during that time.
