crying,
Illinois is awful. They didn't consider my child because she was 2 months younger than the oc. Of course we didn't know about the oc until two years later. I was later told that it is a first come first serve situation, along with age. They can make you still pay if your h dies, they will make you pay for health, and if she wants they make you pay all the way back including pregnancy and delivery.
Public Aid's motto is we are here to protect the rights of the mother. Not child, mother. They view the father as a cash cow. Where are you at in Illinois, just south, central, or north if you want just curious. They won't take your income into consideration. You should be safe on that side.
try to find a lawyer. All the ones we spoke to just wanted to encourage my h into visitation. They said that was the only way to lower the cs amount. They will take 20%. Whether it is before or after your kids is a big if!! They also have a set tax bracket that they use. Let me know if I can help with info.
babstr.

My understanding that they would have only considered her if she was the oldest, AND I was the first there at the office. Of course there is no way I would have been filing for child support, because no one knew about this child. Until she went to get cs. So I don't know how I get punished when I didn't have the information. But the judges also have a take care or your "first responsibilities" attitude. Well because the oc is 3 MONTHS older than my child, than she is considered first, and she is the only one who filed for cs. It doesn't matter that I have been married for 6 years, and thus our family whether there were children or not was established first.
That is just the way it is. I lost because I didn't know anything about this child. go figure.
babstr.

babstr,
I was just wondering if your child was born first then would have consider her? Or since there was no CS order for your child then would not consider her even if she was born first? I am in WI but it seems the laws are very similiar to IL. I have talked to several lawyers most say they should take into account my three kids because they were born first, but a couple of lawyers said no because there is no CS order for them.
Dawn
