You know we're addicted to MB when we're barely recovering from a serious heart attack and still have to post a response!!!

I'm so glad you were feeling up to letting us know how you are doing.

Yes, that was quite a reality check on what the stress of this mess is capable of doing to the human body.

Rest in God. We appreciate you a lot out here in cyberland. HEY! I'm in SoCal too! It's a small world...

Sheesh...a gal goes away for a few weeks...

Good Lord, Pops. What a scare for you and FH and your family. God has certainly kept you in the palm of His hand, hasn't He? All your family and friends storming the heavens for you...there is no way you can leave this earth yet...there is still far, far too much living to do.

Man, I'm glad I didn't know about this til now...now that the major "hair on fire" crisis part of it is over. I hate worrying and stewing...a basic self absorbed personality flaw. Hahaha

So what do the doctors say about full recovery for you? Did they put you on a strict diet and exercise program? Are you going to be on a bunch of meds or just temporarily until your get stabilized? Did you feel this coming on at all? Where were you and what happened? Are you at home now?

I just got an e-mail about heart attacks and that if you are alone and feel one coming on, you're supposed to take deep breaths and then cough a deep hacking cough and repeatedly keep taking the breaths followed with the coughing. It is supposed to kick in the heart during those critical ten seconds a person has before they pass out.

Well, I hope you are out of the woods and doing everything you are supposed to be doing. Obviously, everyone has you in their prayers and you and FH and your family will be included in mine. I am really glad you survived this thing and you are recovering. Lord knows you are desperately needed and loved at home, by your friends and here.

Now let's all assume the lotus position and take huge deep cleansing breaths, get ourselves "centered", release all negatives and chant "oooooohhhhmmmmmm".

Glad you are on the mend.

Love

Catnip =^^=

Pops,

I am glad you are up and around. Are you still in the hospital?

I will keep you and your whole family in our continuing prayers.

Blessings,
MJ

thank you all again for keeping us in your prayers. the mailroom guys in heaven were most definately working ot last week.

it was sunday morning and pain started in my chest. after flopping around on the bed for about 2 minutes i finally agreed with fh that she call 911. emt arrived and they shipped me off to the local er where they injected a clot buster into me. it relieved the pain for about 3 minutes and the artery blocked again at which time my ekg was reading a tombstone shape. i was moved into the cardiac catheterization lab where they implanted a stent. fh saw the dr's face after he came out of the lab and he told her that it was much closer then he had thought. if the blockage had been 1/4" closer to the heart it would have blocked all blood flow to to front and back of the heart and i would not be writing this now.

i spent sunday, monday and part of tuesday in icu. tuesday afternoon they moved me down the hall to the scrubs (primary care unit). what a hoot that was. and they discharged me on wednesday evening. i was home for diner about 5pm. man the miracles of modern medicine. my dad had this done about 15 years ago and he was in the hospital for 2 weeks.

i am on 2 meds called ampotalenaholathinea something or other that are to make the heart work easier. i will be on those for a couple of years. i am also on plavix which is a blood thinner and zocor which is for cholesterol.

the causes are 1 - genetics, my dad had the same thing and 2 - STRESS, the last 3 years.

i went yesterday for a follow up and the doc said my heart sounded great. he told me to start a walking program, i have no special diet other then balanced, and can cuddle with fh as long as there is no heart pounding gymnastics .

i have to go back in 6 weeks for a tread moill test and he will set up a time table for repairing the other 2 partial blockages. one is about 70% and the other is 50%. other then that i feel great.

i am in the process of restructuring my business as i am not allowed to do any heavy lifting for awhile.

the worst thing about this is that i was caught without health insurance. the hospital gave us some papers to apply for state aid and my insurance agent has started paperwork in order for us to aquire insurance thru the state. e will have to probably refi the house in order to pay this bill though. oh well at least we have something to fall back on.

Whoa. I'm not sure what you meant by a "tombstone" shape on your ekg, but it can't be good.

About four years ago when we lost our business and Bipolar was so sick, he was unemployed and I was underemployed and we qualified for the state health program. Our premium was $24.00 per month and we could go almost anywhere. In fact, the state health program was every bit as excellent as private insurance I was very impressed.

I hope you look into it, Pops...I bet you'd qualify.
