It sure gave me a snort and a grin from ear to ear.
Nios~You may feel rode hard and put up wet--very familiar with that term--I have horses but I save that term for whores and that isn't you so you gotta find a different line

What kind of horses? My aunt had Arabians when I was growing up, but I prefer a good ole quarterhorse (some arabians can get a little snotty, kwim?).
Okie dokie - there's gotta be another line that describes bone tired-ness.

I am better today. But I've got a (rather) sad story to tell.
Firstly, (shudder) I didn't share something that happened at my sil's - mainly because I was grossed - effing - out by the whole sitch. Sil called last Thursday to tell us that Bekah had bugwuggies - that's right lice. OMGosh! Dh and I ran through our minds where she could've gotten them - you know, we go to the movies a lot, she's got friends, it could've been anything. Of course it's in the back of BOTH our minds where we THOUGHT she'd picked them up. After all, all our kids lay together on the floor watching movies and stuff - and share pillows and bankies (blankets). (insert very frusterated sigh here - not because of the kids and sharing but because of the sitch itself) Dh had called the kooze when we first found out and told her to check mija. Supposidly she did it right then and mija was clean...yea right. Whatever. I was friggin MORTIFIED esp because it wasn't ME that found them but my sil while my kids were GUESTS at her house. I know it's so common and everything, but still. And it's not exactly easy to get totally rid of them - you've got to wash EVERYTHING (pillows, sheets, clothing, towels, toys if you can) in HOT water, vacuum beds, steralize brushes and combs - it's a lot of effing work! My poor sil took care of Bekah, and had to do all her house, too, just to be sure (hence why I think she's the BEST auntie in the entire world - gosh, I'm so thankful for her). We did our entire house, too, to be sure we got rid of them.
So cut to yesterday...my sil called me when dh was on his way home to tell me he'd picked up mija as a surprise for me....but sil had gone with and didn't want me to jump to conclusions about the p/u, which was good, because I probably would have. I must say it was too sweet to get in the truck and have all three in the back seat wanting huggies and kissies from me. Mija was saying, "mommy, mommy, mommy..." almost like a cheer or chant - too cute for color tv. So we get home and I start dinner. As an afterthought, dh suggests we get the rattail (backcombing) comb and headcheck mija. I am ever so glad we did - but POOR BABY! I swear we combed, like, 30-40 bugwuggies out. NO LIE. She's crying, I'm crying, dh is almost in tears himself. I'm trying to hold her still while he combs (she's only a year and a half so she's not understanding this abuse). I'm trying to pull the eggs out - it's so hard....ick! We finally get to where we are combing through and no more crawlies. We go back inside (we'd done it out on the porch so we wouldn't get them on our funiture) and dh leaves the following on the tart's voicemail: "Vanessa, I am super upset with you right now. You said mija didn't have any lice, but we just sat here and combed 30-40 out of her hair. Call us." We have dinner (that's another thing - mija EATS like she's never seen food at our house - I've NEVER seen a kid eat like her - and she's itty bitty - it kinda scares me how obsessive about food she is when I'm cooking...as soon as I'm in the kitchen, she's pulling her high chair out and wanting to get in it - last time she was here, I had put some hot food in her bowl to cool, and it was on the edge of the counter - she was so frantic to get to it, she pulled it down on herself - oy!), then we went to the $100 store (WalMart). I got a haircolor - I'd needed to do my newgrowth anyway, and since the bugwuggy scare, I figured now was as good a time as any since haircolor will kill just about anything. We come home, and we use the nit rid stuff on her. I HATE USING POSION ANYWHERE NEAR THE KIDS - ever! My poor darling....you should read the cautions on those bottles, I think I'm gonna be scared about those for awhile. The tart calls when we were getting everyone settled for the night. Nio chewed her a new one ( - where is that wicked grin smiley when you need it?). She tried to pull the, "I'm a single parent" deal, "and it's so hard." He told her that she could spend at least one night away from the cantina (bar) to take care of the kids (insert 'nother wicked smiley here). He told her she needed to wash EVERYTHING and line the kids up and clean them. She pissed and moaned about it the whole time.
Is it wrong for me to have the attitude, "you asked for it, *****?" I mean, she CHOSE to have 6 kids....and we get no guarentees that we'll have a partner to help raise them. It's a chance you take - ESPECIALLY if you screw a married man....idiot.
Now, I know how lazy she is - I KNOW that every time the kids come I'm going to have to do head checks. Poor babies - they're gonna think I'm the wicked step monster or something ( ).
After mija's ordeal last night she threw herself around me, held my neck and put her head on my shoulder - she kept saying, "I lovesh you, I lovesh you." I know she didn't understand why we were having to be so hard with her....I even had to tell Nio that, "This is just like being at the doc's office with them....you HATE that you have to hold them down for the shot, but you know it's for their own good." I was saying as much as for his sake as mine....it was so heartbreaking.
I've read up on the bugwuggies, too. These things eat like, every 3 hours. With as many as she had, that was a continuing feeding on her (I know, TMI). As we were doing the nape of her neck, I could see scratches on her scalp - how could her mama not know? I mean, her hair is thick, but if she puts it up for play, how could she not see it?
Oh, and is this me being paranoid or what? But I've had the passing thought that maybe the mama did know, and just didn't take care of it in order to somehow punish dh and I. Please, someone tell me no mama would do that to their kid...please?
Mija snuggled up to me to fall asleep last night. I love her so much. Can I cry again? I feel horrible for her.
I am HUGELY pleased as punch that she'll be mine for the wedding......I only hope those of my family that know the story, but haven't met her can bite their tongues around me about it to refrain from any smart [censored] comments. Hence on the "Jesus" post, I asked for the Grace to hold my head high and for His focus on my blessings.

Hi Kimmy,
I am so sorry. My sister is very clean. Her kids got it once from some neighbor kids. It is even harder because of OW kids coming back and forth if OW doesn't do her part. I am so sorry you are having to go through this.

Thanks Genia.
My mom was a teacher, so through her experiences at school I know how easily these critters spread. Logically speaking of course, I also know you can be as neat freaky as you can, but if you let your kids out of the house, they can come back with them. Since I'm not placing my kids in bubblewrap to protect them, I know it's not like (logically) I don't realize this isn't an easy thing to catch....but the give-me-the-heebie-jeebie unrational side of me wanted to crawl through the telephone lines last night and choke a certain someone with her own hair! And for her to out and out NEGLECT to thouroughly check the kids......................................................................................(pissed off sigh inserted here)
Can't I just keep mija and never send her back? No?

Kimmy - I don't get the chance to talk with you much because I post mostly at night. I just wanted to say I read what you are saying and I really wanted to let you know how much I admire you. The love you have for the OC in your life is apparent. If H and I ever work things out and stay M, I want to be a part of OC's life. Sometimes reading here, it seems like an impossible situation. You make it seem possible. Just wanted to say thanks!!

I would say "de nada" Kris (it's nothing), but I know it isn't nothing. It's something.....read today's "happy" in JT et al thread and you'll understand - "it's an honor."

I'm cool and froody today (to steal a line from Hitchikers Guide).
Dh just called...we're discussing our options for gaining custody of the kids. We have mijo for 10 whole days right now.......I love little babies!

Where the heck have I been? I've never read this thread before.....sorry! Out of the loop again I guess.
OC got lice once too, I found it but it wasn't from us. OW was soooooo embarrassed! hahaha. OC has a massive headful of curly hair (which I ALWAYS point out is straight from DADDY! ) So I know that could not have been fun to try & deal w/!
Anyway....how you doing today? Are the blues jsut going around or what? It rained here yesterday morning! Can you BELIEVE that? Rain in CA? *********** *********** Oh nio, I meant to ask......is it true that you pay full price for your new cars in TX? No negotiating on the price? My H is a car salesman so we can compare stories/differences.
