Is this a major no-no? This may be way too personal for some but feel free to be as specific or vague as you like. Or just skip it.
I just enjoyed getting little glimpses of the people I'm going thru this with--and letting people get to know me--without posting in an organized profile. It seems I can't remember beans about anybody's history with the scattered way we've been posting our personal tidbits, anyway!
NoMas was very brave to say he was a minister! Somehow I can't forget THAT!!
But it was gutsy to say the least.
I'm a registered nurse. Sorry, can't give out any medical advice without losing my license. And I just finished a VERY long 12hour shift--so I'll check this out later.
Goodnite, all!

I am a Quality Living Assistance Manager. I am a manager in a house that 2 mentally retarded men live in. We help them do day to day tasks so they can live semi-independently.
Physical therapist. Notice a trend here of women in "helping" professions.
lora

This is soooo cool, you guys! Thanks for posting. When I went to bed I felt like I might have made a grave error in asking this question. You guys are the best!
I can't believe how "real" you all are!
Why are there so many damn nurses here?!

Were we never supposed to get married or what?! I know in nursing school they wouldn't let us because it was too grueling and demanding a curriculum...does that go with the career as well--did we "neglect" our spouses? Put too much priority on caring for others? I know my H felt neglected. When I get home I'm pretty much burnt toast (I work 12 hours on an acute hospital floor). Changing my priorities a bit now. My marriage helps me have the strength and love I need to care for my patients. I need to nurture it. Just my blurb. Please party on, dudes!

Leilana,
You have me thinking now... scarey.
Maybe there are so many of us here in medical professions because of the helping thing. We want to make everything better and are used to having some control so we are drawn to this type of working on our marriages.
What do you think?
Lora

Social worker and social researcher. I was also told during my master's program to make sure that the spouse understood how hard I would have to work. Guess she didn't understand enough...

OK, I'll get in on this. I work in the computer field. Troubleshooting and repair are my specialties, but I had to take a demotion of sorts for my current job. . .I provide phone based (1st level) technical support. In otherwords, If I can't fix it over the phone, I send someone out to fix the problem.
God Bless
