F A,
Consider yourself ignored. [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Tigger,
Hi there, Hon! I did?! Well, then, I'm glad! Would have loved to do this for you but my fingers and my time schedule are very thankful you understand and I'm happy to give you whatever info I can.
Just for you, I will explain everything but also I'd like to address this to everyone else who is interested and refer them back here cause I don't know how to link, ok?
Remember, they are not Harley principled - take everything you read and twist into a Harley format to work on your marriage, your plan A or plan B or even if you're divorcing. If you are happily divorced, I'd really suggest it. If you are looking for an extramarital compatibility - shame on you! I would never want this to be used that way. It's not what I'm about and not what anyone should be doing - I don't care if you're separated or not. If you're married, you're married. I don't care what anyone's spousse is doing, honor your vow or get divorced.
For you, Tigs, and for others who are interested, I'll explain ad nauseum: Suzanne White has two books out that I cross reference. She does all the work, I just find all the different parts that apply and type them out. The first book is "The New Chinese Astrology" and the second is "The New Astrology".
On page xxvii of the first book you will find your "sign" and "element" based on the year of your (or your spouse's) birth - Chinese years don't begin on Jan. 1st and end on Dec. 31st so be careful you don't assign a wrong sign. Even I've goofed on this part! Check, double check and triple check here! Use a ruler to get your line straight!
In the front, on Contents you will find the page of the sign you are looking for.
I'd suggest reading the intro to the sign you are interested in, read the generic sign profile, read the gender profile after that of the sign you are looking for, and after this you will find the five elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Only one will be yours based on what specific year you were born. Here is where you will find famous people sharing your Chinese sign in the year you were born as well as 60 years prior - as every 60 years your element comes up in your Chinese year (which comes up every 12--but you don't need to remember that!) Just keep in mind that these famous people do not necessarily share your Western sign - may not be born in the same month as you. Reading the Health aspect is good too. That follows the elements profiles. I don't put much stock in the Futures section but it may be a comfort to some. We are all exposed to different experiences, have different levels of knowledge or enlightenment and make our own choices based on that. Even twins don't live identical lives!
On page 503 is the beginnning of the compatiblities between signs of all types and elements. You'll have to flip thru them to find you and your H's Chinese signs.
In the second book it combines Western (Aries, Taurus, Cancer, Leo, etc.) with the Chinese (Dragon, Tiger, Horse, Ox, Rat, Cat(sometimes called a Rabbit in other Asian countries), Snake, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig (or Boar) signs i.e. I'm a Libra by the month and day I was born but I'm also born in a Snake year, making me a Libra/Snake. The profiles put together make for a very real picture that I've never seen with plain Western astrology. It adds a bigger dimension.
Whether you know your Western sign or not, look on page 15 for the specific dates she uses to delineate one sign from the next. Some astrologers use different cut off dates, so some people feel they are one sign when they really might be another and some people feel they are born on cusps. There are no cusps in this book. Once again, check this carefully.
After you found that, go back to pg. vii which is the Table of Contents so find you "New Astrology" combined sign somewhere on the next three pages and go to the page directed.
There you will find four to five pages worth of stuff in areas of your personality, what your inclinations are in Love, what your Compatiblities are with specific "New Astrology" signs (be careful not to be discouraged here! Just because your spouse isn't listed - like mine isn't - with your compatibility here doesn't mean you can't be once again happily married. Just be thankful if he isn't listed as one of the "bad signs" for you to be in love with), Home and Family inclinations (ranging from what you like in your surroundings to what kind of parent you are and what kind of child you were), Professions you are gifted for and lastly more famous people you Western/Chinese sign - but not necessarily your same element - which makes quite a difference.
Personally I've found that what I thought was bunk in an area of my profile a year ago actually came shining thru (or slithering out) this year! I guess if you wait long enough, in growth and life experiences, your tendencies get their opportunity to get exercised. Now I'm glad I know what they are ahead of time so, depending on what it is, I can either fluff it up and be proud of it or squelsh it before it causes any damage!
[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Good luck!

Aloha,
Leilana
