Hi Karen-
I just wanted to toss in a bit of my own experience here. I have had 5 pregnancies. Between #1 and #2 births I miscarried at about 4 months. I am not trying to scare you at all but will say the miscarriage was by far the most painful. I am not sure why-but I was hospitalized and it was worse than any of the births I had given.
I had a family doctor at the time. The hospital hd a OB/GYN come in to look at me. He told my doctor to do a D/C when I had miscarried. Well, my doctor thought all had gone well so he didn't do the D/C. I ended up bleeding and hemorraging for about 7 weeks-when finally a D/C was performed. I lost a ton of weight and was a walking skeleton.
Please make sure you get the D/C-it is for your own safety!!
Also-I did not grieve. I love babies..............but I know there was a reason that I miscarried and if I would have had a deformed child or a handicapped child I know it would have changed our lives forever.
Whatever happens with you-I wish you the best [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Be careful.

------------------
*heartache*
"Life's A Dance
You Learn As You Go.
Sometimes You Lead
Sometimes You Follow!
Don't worry 'Bout What You Don't Know
LIfe's A Dance
You Learn As You Go."

Things died down after H got home from work (whew!!), so we stayed in for the night. I talked to the on call obgyn at the hospital, and she said that it could have been the main brunt of the miscarriage, and suggested I could try waiting a couple of hours to see if there were any changes. If not, then to come in. Seeing that there were changes is what made us decide to stay in.
heartache: Thank you for sharing your experience. I was only at under 7 weeks when the symptoms began, so considering the size of the 'baby', it hasn't been painful. My family doctor will be keeping a close eye on my HCG levels. He wants me to get blood work done every few days, and if there's any type of a plateau, I know he'll schedule me in for a d&c.
Karen

Karen,
I hope that everything goes well for you. My prayers are with you. My H. and I talked about my pregnancy last night and we have decided this is our chance at growing together again. I have been experiencing cramping, but I am not too worried. I hope that it is not too painful for you. I will keep you in my prayers always.

This is my FINAL update on this subject... I hope! LOL
Okay. My HCG levels have gone down on their own. I did have the brunt of the miscarriage on Thursday and Friday, and since then, I've been feeling much better.
The bleeding has almost come to a complete halt. I'm so glad that I didn't have to end up going in for surgery. I really dread the idea.
So now I have to arrange an appt to get the proper birth control for H and I. Condoms just don't seem to do the trick for us, I've had that proved to me now. I'm not ready for a tubal ligation (in another 5 yrs or so, we'll see), IUD's scare me now, and my blood pressure is too high (last I knew) for going on the pill. Not much left, is there? sigh! We'll figure something out though... and hopefully soon! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Karen
Topie,
Checking in to see how you are doing. Know it is tough but from what I am reading you are one strong lady.
By the way Trueheart...... typical man stuff showing here. Hm.... what's for dinner and monkey business. Just joking.. It is nice to see a guy show some sympathy for what a woman goes through on this prego stuff. We know we can't ever make you feel all the pain and suffering, but knowing your kind can care is good to know. There is still hope left for the male species. You folks kill me! ROFLMAO!!!
Oh, and Trueheart, I hate to break it to ya, but I think the remake has the same ending as the original. hehehehe!
If you want to see a great movie (I know it's been out for a while now), but Shrek rules!!! The soundtrack is really good too. I can hardly wait for it to come out on video. That'll probably happen around xmastime (I hope!). Yes, they say it's a kids movie... but so are Disney flicks... and they rule too! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Karen
(a kid at heart? I HOPE! grin)
