Plec,
Sorry to take so long to answer, but my family and I have been away on vacation. In fact, my husband even thanked me for not leaving him so he could enjoy this vacation with us.
I was so touched and honored to have his say those things to me. He has really changed.
You asked if I ever felt guilty about the A. During the time of the A, no I did not feel any guilt except for hurting my H. I felt completely justified in my behavior.
In fact, now I feel very little guilt over the entire thing as strange as that may sound. I do feel sorry for the OM's ex-W and having hurt her, and for the pain I caused my own H, but there was such a void in my life and so many needs being unmet, that I discovered that to have those needs met, I was willing to compromise my beliefs. I am working on that part of myself to figure out why. sometimes I think it is because those basic needs each of us have are so strong and have such a great desire to be met, that I could move outside of what I would normally do in order to have those needs met. If that makes any sense.
I have definitely worked diligently on my relationship with God and have asked forgiveness from Him and my H. And I know that forgiveness was given to me.
You can't make your W feel guilt no matter what you think she should feel. You can only leave that up the God, knowing that He will deal with her in His own time, however long that may be. Just pray for her. Pray for her to find her way back to God and to you. For we know that God cannot abide those that live in sin. He doesn't hear the prayers of the sinner unless they are truly repenting.
And for her to repent would mean that she is giving up her A and coming back to work on her marriage to you.
So my prayers are with you.
Debbie
