I'm just trying another lighthearted thread here. Not sure if it'll work, but here goes:
I"ve noticed all sorts of wonderful aliases on here. Some are obvious as to why they were chosen (I think.. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/wink.gif) ), but I was curious about why you all chose the alias you chose?
I'll start. My birthday is on November 10th, and Topaz is my birthstone. I had tried a few years ago to create a hotmail addy using Topaz25 (I was 25 at the time), but it was taken. I've always liked using Topaz as my alias online, but noticed that people would call me Topie. So Topie25 seemed like an obvious solution! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif) So, if ever you're surfing around, and see a Topie25, it could be me! LOL
Karen

Good topic Topie,
When I was a boy, the next door neighbours dog used to crap on my dad's lawn evermorning just to piss my dad off. I used to think it was very funny. This was like 25 years ago - so the dog is long gone.
Anyways, when I joined this site - I felt like pissing off the OM in my Wife's life. So I named myself after that dog. Freddy.
All the best,
- Paul.

Wow, I didn't have that much imagination. Mine's obvious.
But, I'm reminded of the story about Frank Zappa. If you recall, he named his first born, a son, Dweezil (I may have misspelled it). Nobody thought much of it, because this WAS Frank Zappa, BTW. "Don't you go where the huskies go and don't you eat no yellow snow."
Anyway, a few years later they had a daughter. Named her Moon Unit. When asked why he named his daughter such a name, he replied, "I thought it sounded better than 'Motorhead'!"
WAT

Because as bad as I was feeling, I needed something to feel a bit better about myself. My favorite flower is the Orchid, hence the name. .....
L.

I didn't want anything that would hint at my identity, yet I wanted my alias to describe not only me, but what I want me to be. If I fail at everything else, yet I can still be called a Godly Man, then I will have succeeded at what I feel is most important.

Well....I'm not really concerned about my identity....but I knew that my name.....Heather....would be taken....it always is.
SO.....I chose Miss Priss because that is what we call our middle daughter.
We have silly names that we call all our daughters.
Our oldest is Goober because she's the family comedian.
Our middle one is Miss Priss or Strawberry.....because of her blonde hair...like her mommy.
Our younget is usually Bull.....she's rough....and likes to put her hands on her hips and stomp around when you make her mad.

Well mine ranks in the obvious category. Was dealing with huge quantites of fear, and I live in NY (upstate).
I am really not scared anymore like I was- not even close, but it's me now so I'm sticking with it. It gets confusing when people change their handles for many (like me).

Okay, so I don't win points for creativity and cleverness (and I work in the Arts!).
Gee - um - I live in Alberta! Calgary to be exact. At the time of name selection I was about two months post DDay - not feeling very inspired, just needed help!
I live in a beautiful province, and only a 1 hour drive from the Rockies! Come visit.
[This message has been edited by Alberta (edited July 24, 2001).]
[This message has been edited by Alberta (edited July 24, 2001).]

From a web site on the 'net devoted to Zen:
"Day-to-day pressures bring neurosis, anxiety, and various complexes. The joy of living the moment fades, and despair closes in. To many sensitive individuals today, life has gone stale. They may find in Zen a clue to a fresher approach to life. To follow up the clue will require the courage to overthrow the tyranny of learned responses. Zen serenity and real living stem from recognizing things for what they are."
Plan A (and beyond) equal Zen, in my book...

I used this name to communicate with H’s OW. I wanted one that had not meaning for me at all, something that was a throw away. I was using my son’s computer, picked up a box from one of his computers games and used syllables from two of the words on the box. When I signed on at MB, I figured I’d look around a couple of times and that would be that. Since it still was about H’s affairs I used the same name.
Well I’m still here, still using the name and I’ve grown to like it.
How’s it for the name of an Amazon woman? Well, maybe a virtual, cyber Amazon woman? lol
Z
------------------
He loves not who does not show love.
----William Shakespeare

I use CaliSkoolch a lot as a nickname or username on line...Cali for California where I live and Skoolch is a nickname for teacher...I didn't want to use that here so I first chose InShockInCali...because I was so devastated and in shock...
Later, as I grew stronger, I became StrongerInCali...then when OW invaded website and I thought I should hide I became Diva...after my antics as Hurricane Cali...that's kinda how I felt...like a Diva...
Anyway...when the drama here continued...and my H continued to believe me and apologized to me, I knew I no longer needed to hide...and even with the drama of OW's H posting here, I still don't want to hide...I became JustPlainCali because Cali was taken...
It's funny, I feel like Marsha, has become Cali...
Cali
------------------
Live Impeccably In Your Word.
Don't Take Anything Personally.
Make No Assumptions.
Do Your Best Always.

When I first registered at MB I had seen a lot of usernames that seem so sad and broken...
I had wanted something that would be constant and had nothing to do with how I was feeling at the present moment (if I had it would have been "theworstfeelingintheworld" or something like that) so I choose "untallnikba". It was a username that I had online that just kinda was me - I am 5'0" tall (untall) and my name is Nicole Baker (nikba).

After some time I changed my name to Patient Love because I needed to remind myself daily to love my H and be patient as he was working through what he needed to do to end his affair.
[This message has been edited by Patient Love (edited July 24, 2001).]

"after" the "shock"
- even tho d-day was June 2000, I felt everyday like I was being ripped apart, devastated, intense pain and hurt. I could not believe the hurt - as I had told my H at the beginning - don't ever, and if you give me a child its forever.
Quite by accident (I wrote Dr. Dobson a LONG letter, and contacted Minirth/Myers), one day this e-mail pops up from MarriageBuilders. Took me a month to look at this site. Never knew anything like this existed to help me, and what I was going through (we were going through). I attribute my inside healing to being here, venting. Sometimes the stories make me go into an axiety attack.
Having this done to our marriage, it really brought back bad, bad memories of high school, when my boyfriends would "cheat". They'd be going with me, then take someone else out. My H never went through any of these games - so he just didn't know, as our relationship is the the only one he's really had (if that is not called success). I would think 14 + years would be successful. It is a damn shame it happened - if it clears up the do do - I will revel in it - IT IS STILL A HORRIBLE EVENT TO DO TO ANYONE - ESPECIALLY THE ONE YOU LOVE?
