The Piano.
That's some full-frontal nudity stuff there! Excellent soundtrack too... dark movie... love it.
You guys are reminding me of so many movies I love...
I'm a real sickko too... I've got Babe, The Brady Bunch and The Little Mermaid...
... and then I have Body Double, Life of Brian, Wayne's World...
I wasn't gonna say it, because it makes me sick to admit it... but I was a real Titanic lover BEFORE James Cameron, and I waited with much anticipation for the movie. I loved it, EXCEPT for the Rose/whatever-his-name part.

Wow, movie critic buffs @ MB!!!
Ok MnM, I also like Fiddler on the Roof. ....and I used to sing and dance (just @ home) to the Sound of Music...... my girlfriend even made us sing sunrise sunset at her wedding (that's when I learned not to quickly agree to be a bridesmaid - LOL! )....that was over 20 years ago.
Here's a few more:
Hunt for Red October
Jurassic Park (all of them - this one's for my son)
Shrek Peter Seller's movies Danny Kaye movies Cary Grant movies Gary Cooper movies Robert Dinero movies
Jackie Chan movies (am I crazy or what)
Hmm........now if I like movies with those guys in it, why do I keep having dreams about G Clooney and T Cruise? (oh that would be another thread in itself - LOL! ) Somewhere in Time (loved the music)
Tea House on the August Moon (Marlon Brando)
Go for Broke! (old WWII movie)
JohnQ (sad but all too true)
The Whoopie Goldberg movie where she said "I'm a woman stuck in a big black box....heeeellllp!!!!" (or something like that).
Walt Disney's animated Jungle Book - I would like the lyrics for King Loui's "I wanna be just like U".
Oh, this isn't a wish list its a movie list.... LOL!!! Guess I'd better stop now.
L.
[ March 24, 2002: Message edited by: Orchid ]

As a St. Patty's Day gift, Mr. Pepper got me a DVD copy of THE QUIET MAN. My all-time favourate John Wayne flick. John Ford (director) used Ireland itself as a character in the movie ...... sooooo pretty. Barry Fitzgerald (character actor) as Michaeleen is one of movies MOST memorable performances. "Impetuous!"
Pepper

Well, we just watched Rat Race, what a hoot!! I thought my DH was going to do himself an injury at one point, he said it was the funniest scene he had ever seen, it involved Jon Lovitz. He had tears streaming down his face and was almost choking! Thank you for the recommendation!
[ March 26, 2002: Message edited by: luvmydogs2 ]

Duets - I saw it not long before d-day, the guy in it that has the nervous breakdown makes me laugh because sometimes i feel like that, like just running away, but the way he does it, its just so funny!
Ocean11 and Spy Game was good too, mainly because of Brad Pitt - melt!

So many good ones to single out but my all time favorite is:
The Wizard of Oz - Technically advanced for 1939, great story, great FX, great music...and who doesn't love Dorothy?
That Thing You Do & A League of Their Own - Two great Tom Hanks movies...That Thing You Do may be the best overlooked little movie ever made. Hanks directed, starred and wrote all the music...A League Of Their Own is a great tribute movie to the All American Women's Baseball League that does great justice to the women with excellent humor.
To Kill A Mockingbird---well, just because the book is great and Gregory Peck is a great Atticus Finch. Also included Robert Duvall's screen debut.
The Godfather - Has to be on the list
A Few Good Men - Story of redemption and triumph against overwhelming odds...so I like Tom Cruise--sue me.
Saving Private Ryan - Brutal look at WWII...and there's that Hanks guy again.
ET - Helloooooo? Has to be on the list.
Titanic - Just because of the scale of this movie.
Someone mentioned Lonesome Dove--absolutely the best thing ever put on television--ever. Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall are brilliant as Woodrow and Gus. If you have never seen this get all the episodes and sit down and watch it. You will thank me. (Do not, howvere, under any circumstances watch Return to Lonesome Dove---pure dreck)
Sorry I got carried away here, but there are so moany good titles.
Jo--thanks for starting this thread...
E

You are VERY welcome, ELad.
Thank-you for giving us a look at ELad's movie taste. We did omit some tremendous films.
How are you doing anywho, E? How was your week-end? Any more movement toward or away from Plan B?
Jo
p.s. Maybe you can help me out ... I'm trying to remember the name of a movie that takes place during WWII about a well off young boy who was separated from his parents, captured by the Japanese and placed in a camp with hundreds of others (Americans, English, Aussies). The movie's story line is about his struggles surviving in this the dog-eat-dog camp. At the end of the movie he is reunited with his parents.
Do you know what movie I'm talking about, E? I've been racking my brain all week-end trying to remember it. It's one of my favs.
[ March 25, 2002: Message edited by: Resilient ]

Yes,I do remember it...but I am glad you thought of the title 'cause I just drew a blank...
No plan B yet...
I left town for the weekend just to get away and be by myself...distance doesn't really help much but I am glad I did. I do have a Plan B letter written but still talking to my WW...just talking a lot less these days....none of this is easy.
Thanks for asking.
E

You deserve to be pampered, NiKKOOOLA
Those two movies are really good to watch one after another. I'd say first pop in "Training Day", then "Rat Race". I can't tell you why cuz then I'm leaking storyline info.
Have a great evening ...
Jo

Forgive me for the reason but.... Sleeping with the Enemy. As a former abused wife the whole idea of getting even in the end just makes me smile. Plus the whole knight on a white horse to come along and make everything better. Thought that's what my current H ws going to be but.....
