Hey L.I.T, KiwiJ, & LINY...

not much new here... 16 more days 'till I fly home for R&R!

I haven't posted to TA... I just don't think he's real... I noticed where he'd deleted all of his previous posts up to a point (mainly where he described his 1.5 million dollar home and all of his other goodies). Usually, if I don't have something nice to say, I just keep my mouth shut!

Hope everyone is doing well this evening...

recovering H said:

Bob, I think you have the most dramatic life of anyone I've ever known.

Y'know RH my life up to the point where my Squid chose the dark side was wonderfully and pleasantly free of soap opera. Drama , yes: adventure: YES , butno soap opera.

Yet this short but intense walk out of teh fire has certainly had its unfair share of soap opera.

I was telling a music producer friend of mine about it and he wrote and produced a song about us ( " talking in your sleep ")which may appear on one of his acts albums in the new year !!

Our story is genuinely dramatic with love, sex faith and death, tragedy and happiness all over it.Maybe it would make a short story someday. I'd only need to change the names !

Walking thorugh it has been a bit surreal to be honest - my level of deliberate detachment during plan A meant I wasn't as phased by some of the wierdness as perhaps I would normally have been.

All this wierdness has been woven by God into a Labyrinth of NC and recovery however. I can see that from where I stand now.

* LINY - good can happen fast its true. As just reported my gig has been SO wierd perhaps not many lessons can be taken from it.

All I would say is that consistency of good intent and brave actions performed in love and faith work best for everyone. All that is better than clever or whatever. ((((LINY)))

Did someone mention the Finn Brothers?

We just went to see them here in London (UK) - they were every bit as good as last time when it was Neil on his own. And Tim is still doing his mad Split Enz stuff on stage.

I am the BIGGEST fan (as you can tell from my user-name!). I have every album - even have the solo album Tim made after Enz split up - and that takes real fanship, as it was pretty awful.

Whenever we go to see them, it feels as every Kiwi in England is there to say hello!

So this is where all the you people hang out??

Believer told me I should drop in but with the house cleaning, washing, ironing, gardening, and this @#^%$#$^^% virus or whatever it is , ‘cuse another little puke just to show its still there, yuck, too much info huh, anyway its early evening here and probably early morning in the States.

Headaches, nausea, blocked nose & feeling worn out all the time…. Yep, I guess I am a at home housewife again.

Well glad I didn’t have to worry about cooking Turkey, we of course don’t celebrate Thanksgiving in Australia, that’s for Christmas along with the Hams, Pork, lamb, fish, steak and snaggers I have to cook on Christmas Day and I have a hard enough time cooking anything right now without turning green.

Daughter & her girlfriends arrived not long ago and said they would cook me dinner. Sweeties all of them, of course I was expecting Spam out of the can and toast but I’m been surprised, I’m getting Souvlaki in freshly cooked flat bread …yum I think I could get used to being cooked for.

So there I am being quietly contented listening to the girls talk about men while preparing the meal.
Wow are they cynical or what and only 18!!
Men only want one thing, men are creeps, men freak out if you even hint at the C word, men are SO immature... crikey ...
Couldn’t be any of the guys here at least.

DD explaining how its like getting blood out of a stone to have her Knight in Shining armour say ILY's, reckons if she dresses as a 2 door Monaro she'd have him eating out of her hands...ah, from the mouths of babes.......heh heh

Ok RIF

snagger is a pretty famous Aussie BBQ food, its also useful for describing some people, we say they are 'a snagger short of a Barbie,' thats means thay are crazy.

The snagger is a sausage, usually pork, beef or chicken, though I have been known to cook a Emu and a Croc snagger as well.

sounds like Boudin... it's a sausage/rice filled bratwurst thingy that I learned about when we first moved to Louisiana...

Only problem is that when you try to grill 'em, they usually bust open and spill rice and meat all over the grill!

AW -

You will fit in just fine here - we are all a snagger short of a Barbie.

Robby is the mayor, and you have to get a job. We have a town attorney general, a sniper, a warden (me), an education specialist, a bartender, an exterminator and cook, and I forget the rest.

We need a mental health worker - they keep quitting.

What are you best at?

Oh there are few ways to do that RIF but the traditional snagger is just meat, nothing fancy, of course the blokes JUST have to do the BBQ, its an Aussie tradition in itself, and if I see them buying a slab of beer I usually buy twice the amount of food because you know how religious guys get after drinking a slab of beer...... all those burnt offerings..

L.I.T. I hope you went for the pecan pie or the pumpkin pie. The rest you can have anytime of year. I'm British and have just been introduced to pumpkin pie by my US friend. YUM YUM YUM! TT

TT

"Pun-kin pie is guud" Spoken in true Texas slang

It was made with real pumpkin, too - not just canned. With some homemade whipped cream on top, you can't beat it!

I'm trying to be a little "good" and eating some green beans before I delve into my sugar heaven!

(was thinking of the pumpkin....save the pecan for later )

We had green beans too. My friend's pumpkin pie was also homemade with freshly whipped cream. I hate cooking but I love home cooked food. Where's the logic in that. I think I would love America. So much excess

Speaking of excess....going to a friends to watch all three of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy! Bringing macaroni and cheese, cookies, Ben and Jerry's ice cream, and she is making soup! We agreed to each wear expandable pants

God, my life revolves around food

I should change my sig line:
Live to eat....don't eat to live.

trTA & AW: Welcome to Idiotville. No Lurking--you MUST post (or I'll sue you) and Robby is the Mayor!

trTA-One of my most prized vinyl albums is a lazer etching album from Split Enz. Good to hear they're still around!

LIT-no advice on that sit you had. A bit different from the thread a few days ago, as you knew this guy before you were married. However, will still quote GC and his response: "opportunist."
Have a great time at your movie fest!

(I know . had started with her D.) . that was very kind of you to say!

RIF- hang in their buddy! 16 days!!!!!!

Everyone have a great weekend!!

Hullo fellow loonies !

I hope you all had a blessed Thanksgiving.

I took the day off work today and went Chritsms shopping with Squid. Cost me an arm and a leg, but I kept my humour up ! In truth it was lovely to spend the day with her. I am still really touched when she seeks out my hand to hold while we walk.

We bought all the 'second row' gifts now - i.e. everyone but Each other and kids. * gulp*. Lotta money. LOADSA gifts !

Also got my 7 YO son a HUGE RC monster truck with pimpin' spinning hubcaps !

And 12 YO DD her first guitar ( shes a crazed Avril Lavigne, Busted and Franz Ferdinand fan !)

She will ADORE that ! I still remember my first guitar. I strapped it on aged 10 and felt like I had pulled the sword from the stone.

Wonderful. * Grin!*

I have no idea what to get Squid for real. I mean I still want to arrange for a gift to be waiting for her at our holiday apartment in the keys but I dunno what to get her.

'Stuff' seems a bit lame after all we've been through.

Well I do have an idea but its a biggie and I need to think long and hard about it before I give her that. Hmm. Scary...

We may be setting up in business next year too ! Squid wants to return to paid work as we discussed and she thinks too much time on her hands AND a dislike of being defined as a SAHM contributed to her A. She wants to qualify as a driving instructor and work for herself !

I told her honestly that I still had trust issues over that, and that I felt she might be doing it so she is fearful that I may kick her our OR maybe that she has hopes of rekindling with that old wasterl OM if she had independent income.
She told me point blank that she would pay all money into my checking account if I wanted and list all accounts and assets in my name to show she trusts me and wants to be with me.

BIG stuff from Squid !

Much to process.

Anyway I know idiotville doesn't have a driving instructor, mebbe Squid could get THAT job as a reason to sign in here ?
