Hi Jen

well if you are missing a snake or two you can have some of mine, we usually get at least one or two in the back yard this time of year....

skin and cut into 2 inch lengths, season with salt/pepper, throw in pan, cook in HOT pan for a few minutes, take out, TRY not to gag and serve up to H and drunk mates......

hey it DOES taste like chicken...yeah sure if you think chicken tastes like gamey seafood ... and if you are starving on a desert island.. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Geez, AW, I thought you had morning sickness.

Doesn't just WRITING that make you want to throw up. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

I can't remember if I tried roo last time I was in Oz.

My sister lived in Sydney for 10 years and we visited her most holidays. My H also lived in Sydney for a couple of years before I met him. There's something about Oz that's very appealing. I feel kiwis and aussies are "cousins" but we're really quite different in a lot of ways.

Hey AW, how long ago did you live in HK? Were you out at that NT military post where they had the great Friday market with the Gurkhas? It's changed so much since the chinese came into power but still a great city. TT

well its only when I eat that I throw up, or drink something like OJ.

Being a bush girl I can do all the yucky farm things like docking lamb tails, fly blown wounds etc etc no worries, but I freak out on silly things like getting a fish of the line of all things - men’s job - I think it was the preparation I had early on, all those dirty nappies ...lol stomach that stomach anything!!!
lol
still can't figure why men go green at those jobs, I mean its their children too!! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Hi TT

yeah that’s the place.

We had a fun time those few moments he was free to go out...and the 'local' prices compared to the tourist prices, well, that was something!!!

We had fresh foods & the meat flown in on US air force cargo planes..... a very strange existence for around 18 months..not really my thing, I'm afraid I'm just a working girl & I must have some deep hidden need to clean up all the time. Just could not get used to leaving the dinner plates on the table or sitting on the sink...even when we go out to a restaurant I start to put the plates together etc etc MMmm anal maybe ...I think I need help!!! lol

Hi RIF, it's 5.30 on Saturday evening.

Now I'm singing -

"I'll be home for Christmas.....la, la, la."

Cool for you RIF.

BTW if you could hear me singing it's like listening to a cat being strangled. LOL.

Things are goodish. I've had to go back on AD's but it's been work related not A related. LOL. The woman I work with is probably the most difficult person I've ever worked with in my whole career but I am NOT letting her force me out of my job which I love. I'm hoping she'll leave soon - which is on the cards as she's looking at the moment.

Took me a long time to get used to it. Only thing I have a problem with now is someone else putting my dirty underwear in the laundry. No thanks. That's a job for me! It's amazing how many people get sucked into the 'expat lifestyle' thing and after a couple of months can't live without their maids. Shame! TT

Well RIF I love that song and I'll cry if I want to as well... sniffle <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I'll Be Home For Christmas

I'm dreaming tonight
Of a place I love
Even more than I usually do
And although I know
It's a long road back
I promise you

I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please, have snow and mistletoe
And presents on the tree

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the lovelight gleams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

I'd settle for that if I knew he was ok. Stupid bloody war, I'm sick of it!!

OK my favourite joke
Three soldiers in camp, one English, one Irish and one Scot. BORED out of their minds they go to teh quartermaster " Can we get someting to help pass the time between duty ? We're SOO bored !!"

QM says " well, money's tight but if you take the next chopper into the city and buy some cheap entertainments If I like your reasoning I'll refund out of petty cash"
" whoo hoo! "

The three hop on the chopper and go shopping.

QM greets the chopper when it returns. First to step off is the Englishman with a large square flat pack under his arm.

" what you bought to entertain us?" asked the QM.

"Its a card table and four packs of cards" said the Englishman, unwrapping his purchase.

QM says " CARDS ? What can you do thats fun with CARDS?"

" Cards can be cerebral and fun, and all great games from patience to bridge can be played by up to four players on this great table. Only $100" replied the Englishman.

" good idea" says the QM " set it up in the canteen and take the money out of petty cash"

Next off the chopper - the Scot with a round, flat parcel in his hands.

" what you bought to entertain us?" asked the QM.

"A reversable dart board and three sets of darts, the noo" said the Scot.

QM says " DARTS ? What can you do thats fun with DARTS?"

"Och" says the Scot "Darts is fun for all folks, and theres three weights of darts so big and small can play. Also the boards reversible and has pub games on the reverse ! Only $50!"

" good idea" says the QM " set it up in the canteen and take the money out of petty cash"

Finally the Irishman steps off the chopper with a small bag from a pharamcy in his hand.

" what you bought to entertain us?" asked the QM.

Irishman replied " To be sure, I have bought back a packet of Tampons, only $2!".

QM says " TAMPONS ? What can you do thats fun with TAMPONS ?"

Irishman takes out the carton and reads from it :

" well it says here you can ride horses...go swimming...play tennis...dance all night.... "

Your smile made my clumsy typing worthwhile AW ! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

I am in awe of service personnel and their families. Its a hard job made harder by long seperations from loved ones.

"they also serve" is a very true saying.

I read last week that because of training and support it sactually more dangerous to be a windowcleaner in Oldham than it is to be a Soldier in the middle east stratistically !

If Aussie didn;t take a bucket and sponge he'll be alright <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" />

Seriously hon, think of the brave, smart trained folks watching Aussies back. Are there better soldiers anywhere on earth than our allied services folks ?

Miss him, pray for him but do not fear too much AW. He is brave and smart surround by brave smart folks. There are worse places for hm to be.
