Hello all!

starz,

You asked for opinions, I'm sure you didn't mean me!

So I won't speak to the MB part of it, I'm not an expert and others are much smarter than I am.

HOWEVER!

dusting off soapbox...

IMO plan A doesn't make you a doormat. Or invisible. Or excuse or condone ****ed up behavior.

Sure, he's mad. You're ruining his fantasy.

Tsk, tsk.

All he's doing is ruining your life.

I may be wrong. But you're still human and the choice to ignore his bull**** would seem to be far more intolerable.

Good evening Idiots, Mayor. Wow, the board has been rough today. I'm thankful for this place.

The president is coming to my place of employment tomorrow - no Robby, not the president of Idiotville - the president of the United States. So it will be an exciting day for me.

Where is LINY? After brown posted EWWWWW, haven't heard from him.

Hey Believer, Hope you enjoy all the excitement. The couple times the President visited where I work it was crazy. No sack lunches or back packs allowed into the building and we all had to checked with the magnetometer.

RIF, It is getting closer by the hour...

s'bout my bedtime. 'night all in Iville.

Hi Believer - Glad the new fish made it!!! Hey, the VP is over here today... he popped in then went down to Kabul...

Hey FF - Yep, 3 days and a wake up... not sure what time the plane leaves on Saturday AM... but I'm going to be on it one way or another! I'm going to have to wash one more time before I finish packing... but I'll be ready!!

How's it going Starz - Well, I know that it's under 90 hrs... they don't post the flight times until 24 hrs in advance... so I'm kindof guessing until Friday...

Hey Mr. Mayor - How's it going with you today?

Anyone seen Bob or AW? How about LINY or Brown???

Well, back to work...

Hows everyone at idiotsville today??

Been very busy here and I have been busy packing my sons bags for the Army training camp for which he leaves tomorrow morning.
It very, very hard to realise my little boy is now a 6ft 17 yr old who has been a great joy in our lives.
With all the ADD problems he had and some bad friends he NEVER has given us a real moments worry, until he decided to join the Army of course. Of course dad says it’ll make a man of him, but then HE would!!

But I’ve promised no tears no mushy stuff from Mom in front of the other guys, so I’ll be very good just like the rest of the Moms. Well I’ll try.

So 3 socks, green Khaki standard issue, 3 shorts ditto, T shirts PE type green, undies etc etc etc etc well I’m used to packing that type of bag so no problems do that in my sleep, little trickle from eyes, just the sinus, Oh shut up you men. Moms are allowed to have a little sniffle at these times

Well RIF just a few short days to go and you'll be home and emeshed in all the family dramas...I bet you CAN"T WAIT!! ,,,lol MAke sure you give you W and kids a big hello from Aussie & me and have a great time!!

Our oldest daughter will go off to college next year...

I can't imagine any of my girls joining the Army!

Well I hope THAT never happens RIF, but I guess we will feel much the same when they go to college or Uni over here except they wont have to leave home to do that in Perth. Thank God

Marriage of course will be the BIG thing for them most likely, that or running off with a boyfriend....... yikes frightening myself ...lol

My Dad always used to say that we girls were Gods way showing him that there are so many guys out there just like he had been after what he was after at 18 ...lol
I dont think he handled our late teen years very well the poor man... and when I Married Aussie at 18 it was like the end of the world....heh wouldn't last a year he said... sort of got that wrong..

He still has a bit of a chuckle over those times and says to me just wait..... tell me about it, adult DD and near adult DS and now a new one on the way.... wow I surely do things out of order...lol

RIF: If I don't get a chance to tell you later, or whatever, enjoy your R&R!! If anyone ever deserved it, it's you guys serving. Thanks again from all here.

AW: I'm not sure the right word to use, so I'll try not to stick my foot in my mouth. Your son joining the army and leaving will be tough. I was going to use the word congratulations, but that just doesn't seem right. Your young man is entering the army AND you have much to be proud of. Good luck and we'll keep him in our prayers for you.

Morning all!

Americans weigh down cruise ship

07dec04

DOZENS of seats on the world's most luxurious cruise liner have collapsed under the weight of obese American passengers.

The chairs -- on the Queen Mary 2 -- are being replaced or repaired.
The seating is mainly in the bar and restaurant areas.

Alstom Chantiers, the French company that provided the liner with all its fixtures and fittings, claimed many of the chairs had buckled under the weight of larger passengers.

"There are some things that need to be changed or replaced," said a spokesman. "For instance, there are some problems with the chairs because some of our passengers are heavier than we imagined.

"It's not an English problem, it's probably more American."

An unnamed former member of the ship's crew said: "We do have many large passengers on the QM2. Most of the passengers are American.

"And we do have 10 restaurants on the ship, so if they are big when they get on, they tend to be bigger when they get off."

New Social Security Plan Allows Workers To Put Portion Of Earnings On Favorite Team

WASHINGTON, DC—President Bush signed an ambitious Social Security plan into law Monday that will allow citizens to bet a third of their payroll taxes on their favorite sports teams.
"It's time we gave the American people the chance to make some real money for retirement," Bush said, speaking from the new Office of Social Security and Pari-mutuel Wagering Building. "Some naysayers think the average citizen doesn't know how to handle his own money. When spring training starts next year, it's up to you to prove them wrong."
"It's your money," Bush added. "You earned it. You should be able to bet it on whatever team you want."
Under the new plan, participating citizens will be asked to list their favorite teams on their W-2 forms. At the start of each major sports season, program participants will visit their local Social Security booking offices to review point spreads and sample playoff trees. Citizens' team selections will be subject to approval by their employers, who contribute a percentage of wages to the employee Social Security Earned Benefits Fund, or "pot," under the new system.
"For too long, Social Security has been managed by an elite group of government accountants and economists," said U.S. Sen. Paul Ryan (R-WI), a longtime advocate of Social Security reform and athletics-based gambling. "Why let your retirement money sit around in an account when you could double or triple it in a single year? Under the new plan, anyone with access to a sports page can control his financial destiny."
Added Ryan: "Assuming, of course, that Favre keeps a lid on those turnovers next season."
Many in Congress praised the bipartisan Social Security Athletic Wagering Commission for "developing a system with favorable odds" for America's taxpayers.
"The risk is greater, but so are the potential payouts," said commission member U.S. Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), who has long argued that sporting organizations have higher standards of oversight, accountability, and strategic transparency than the federal government. "Why, a Boston-area resident who placed 2 percent of his lifetime earnings on the Patriots or the Red Sox this year would have tens of thousands of dollars in his retirement fund. That's a lot of squeeze, even after taxes."
Reid refused to comment on the potential financial losses of a Brooklyn mother of three who bet the Mets, Knicks, Jets, or Giants during the past 10 years.
"Not everyone likes pouring money into a long-term account month after month, motivated only by the promise of a solid future," newly appointed Social Security and Pari-mutuel Wagering chief Demitri "The Greek" Kannapolis said. "Now, citizens will be able to see their Social Security system working every time they flip through the sports pages. It'll make the games more fun, too, because there'll be more riding on them."
Several members of Congress have criticized the plan.
"While we do need to restructure our Social Security system, this isn't the way to do it," U.S. Rep. Bob Matsui (D-CA) said. "Statistics show that certain groups of people—women below the poverty line, for example—don't care about sports. I support an addition to the plan that will allow citizens who don't follow professional athletics to put a portion of their SSI payout into lottery tickets."
"Everyone deserves a chance at realizing the American dream, whether they like to follow the Rams or the PowerBall picks," Matsui added.
U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum (R-PA) dismissed critics who contend that the plan will cause a $2 trillion shortfall in the current funds being paid out to seniors.
"People can nitpick all they want, but there's a lot of money to be made if you take the time to do a little research," Santorum said. "Just look at this football season. With the Steelers leading the AFC North and the Eagles leading the NFC East, people in my state might have benefited handsomely from an opportunity like this."
Added Santorum: "Sure, we're risking a couple trillion, but I got a feeling people are gonna double that money when baseball season comes around, no problem."

Least Competent Criminal

It was one of the classics, but it happened anew, in Bloomington, Ill., in October. Donald R. Hilger was arrested and charged with robbing 11 local businesses over the previous two weeks. He was picked up shortly after a robbery of a Jewel/Osco store, and police brought two of that robbery's witnesses by the arrest scene to see if they could identify him. According to police, however, as soon as the employees spotted Hilger, Hilger pointed at one of them and blurted out, "That's the one I robbed." [Pantagraph (Bloomington), 10-15-04]

Starz: I was going to post on your thread, but didn't really have any advice that I thought would help your situation. Your sitch seems more complicated than many because of the farm and business. I would echo Believers question in that "does Curly's H know?" If he doesn't that could help to stop the A, and really that it is continuing is what is killing you (or at least your love for IB).
