Hi Miker,
It's anyone's guess why your WW is now wearing the cross. My WH is an admitted agnostic/atheist and yet one day a while ago I found(through snooping) that he was a "member" of a website called Catholic.com and it was interesting to me because he had received e-mail from this site and it was sent to his new yahoo e-mail login that had his and the homewreckers name in it.I thought that was really curious,I have no idea what he is up to now.
My WH has rarely stepped inside a church especially since Catholicism was "forced" upon him as a child. He never said to me that God brought him and the homewrecker togehter but he did suggest "cosmic forces" did.

Perhaps it is a litmus test of sorts..
"If I don't burst into flames, God must be OK with what I am doing."

quote:
I say I am not a Christian because of my wrong and evil doings. How can I have been Christian and have done that? I am repenting now, I am trying to become a good christian again.

Saving Grace - You "may" not be a Christian if you have never truly accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, confessing that you are a sinner, and asking God to forgive you. If you did that at some point, you ARE a Christian.
Understand that you may not be a "mature" Christian and that you still live in a fallen, sin-nature driven, body. You, as do I and all Christian, will always "fight" against our sin-nature as long as we are alive.
Saving Grace - If you truly want to learn and become more mature in the faith, begin by reading God's word. That's why He gave it to us. If you don't know what's actually in it, how can you expect to know what God's commands are, if someone is twisting Scripture or not, or how to "put on the full armor of God" to allow you to "win the fight" against sin and temptation.
Also, understand that sin is "sin" to God. Yes, we can, and do, ascribe greater "weight" to some sins versus others, but to God ALL sin is anathema to Him. Jesus did NOT sacrifice Himself to save you from "some" of your sins, He died to save you from ALL of your sins. It cannot be any other way or we could not have fellowship with a Holy God.
"Renewing" your Christian walk and learning to follow God's commands in humble obedience is very good. Just understand that after truly accepting Jesus Christ, you NEVER cease to be a child of God. God gives us an illustration of this in the parable of the Prodigal Son. Wanton sinful life in pursuit of selfish pleasure...but he hit bottom and realized his folly. He went home expecting, hoping, to be accepted merely as a servant. But his father would have none of that. The father made it clear that he was always his son, even while he was lost in a sinful lifestyle. "Once a son, always a son." The rejoicing was from the son realizing the error of his ways and committing to walk humbly as his son (you might say he learned his lesson the hard way).
Saving Grace, it is yet another of Satan's lies to try to get you to believe that God "didn't really mean what He said." That's the same lie that Satan has been using since he used it on Eve in the Garden of Eden. He appeals to "human logic," not God's truth. "Your sin was SO HUGE that no one, not even God, could REALLY forgive you." Rubbish. That is precisely WHY God the Son, Jesus Christ, worked salvation for us. So that ALL of our sins ARE forgiven when we accept Him.
"For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
SG, THAT is why we have both Christmas and Easter. God's promise to work salvation for us himself was, and is, carried out in the gift of Jesus Christ. "There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved."
SG, once in Christ's flock, He is the Good Shepard. If one gets lost, He does not abandon you. He goes out looking for you to guide you back to the safety of the sheep pen with the rest of His flock.
But now, it is time to stop being a "baby" in Christ. It is time to start school and learn. It is time to surrender "your will" and simply obey God's commands in humble obedience.
If you'd like a place to start, start with reading the book of John. Then follow that with Romans, 1 Corinthians, and Ephesians. Once you've done that you might want to consider reading the entire Bible, perhaps for the first time. If you do, there are many schedules for regular reading that will take you through the entire Bible in 1 year. So don't get overwhelmed with trying to read the whole Bible in one sitting. Take it just like recovery....one day at a time.
God bless.

Reservoirdog1, WAT, I tend to agree with you. My WH has been wearing a cross which I believe is a gift from OW after a year into A, when H supposedly decided to stay M. And he goes to church and usually stays the opossite corner from us. He lives with us still, the contact is still ongoing, I gave him Plan B letter shortly before Christmas. I avoid any contact with him while sharing a house and two teenagers. I keep praying but I am slowly forgetting for what. I am not a very devout church goer and the cross issue sure baffles me. Especially since there are many lies tied to it as well.
So this thread REALLY got my eye. All the best to all of you.

I actually found an email from my STBX and OW that "God brought them together".....I about puked. After we separated, I noticed my STBX had a cross around his neck. He saw me staring at it and said, "What? I can't wear a cross? I bought it for myself. Is that okay with you?" I actually came to find out the other night when OW confessed all to me (EA was a 2 year PA!), that they bought eachother crosses from James Avery. Unbelieveable, yet sad......they obviously do not know the Father.

My stbx took off the cross i gave him and started wearing one given by OW...can you believe that?!
WH also asked for his rosary back one month ago...and told me once that only divine intervention will help him now.
The best thing i did was ignoring everything WH says and concentrate on ME ME and me... i think you should do the same. Good luck

Madonna wore a crucifix while masturbating in her 'sex' book.... not everyone takes that icon seriously.
Regarding the 'god has bought us together' atitude that is truly the saddest manifestation of fantasy. AS IF God would use the destruction of faithful families, lies and adultery to bring two people together in Godly love !!
Rationalization of the least acceptable kind IMO.
BUT I take isue with anyone that said they can't be a Christian or attend church of they are adulterers.
Much as it feels unfair to me and to others, God sees a binary measure of sin : there or not. Adulterers have as much right to pray, and ask forgiveness and do white liars and wet dreamers and folks who take pens home from work.
In fact is there a better place for an active adulterer to go than a spirit filled church or ( better) on their knees in prayer ?

Just for follow up and interest sake...
I now suspect WW's cross is a gift. And I think there's a very good chance it was from OM. I do not think she's turned the "corner" with respect to faith, although I'm still hoping!
