My mom stopped by today. She brought me a CD and played this song for me. Both of us sat there crying. She told me this is what she felt about me and she was sure that I felt the same about Chloe.

She said when I get down about my situation to play the CD and look into my daughters eyes. I do believe she is my little miracle God sent to pull me through this.

In My Daughters Eyes

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daugter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

I heard this at work a few weeks ago, and I cried too. My mom passed away May 2003, and when this played I felt her strength in me...I was having a really tough day. Since then, I have searched out more songs by Martina McBride. You should listen to "God's Will" and especially "How Far", truly in touch with us BS's.

That's a great song. I bought it for a friend who'd just had a baby girl.

I love country music! But it needn't always be melencholy, or make you cry.

Some are a little more fun. Not strictly condusive to marriage-building, but fun nevertheless. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />

Here's one for the ladies by Jo Dee Messina:

My Give-a-Damn's Busted
Well, you filled up my head with so many lies.
You twisted my heart till somethin' snapped inside.
I'd like to give it one more try,
But my give-a-damn's busted.

You can crawl back home, say you were wrong;
Stand out in the yard and cry all night long.
Well, go ahead and water the lawn:
My give-a-damn's busted.

I really wanna care.
I wanna feel somethin'.
Let me dig a little deeper:.
No, sorry: nothin'.

You can say you've got issues, you can say you're a victim.
It's all your parents fault, after all you didn't pick 'em.
Maybe somebody else has got time to listen:
My give-a-damn's busted.

Well, your therapist says it was all a mistake:
A product of the Prozac an' your co-dependent ways.
So who's your neighbor these days?
My give-a-damn's busted.

I really wanna care.
I wanna feel somethin'.
Let me dig a little deeper:.
No, still nothin'.

It's a desperate situation, no tellin' what you'll do.
If I don't forgive you, you say your life is through.
C'mon, gimme somethin' I can use:
My give-a-damn's busted.

Well, I really wanna care.
I wanna feel somethin'.
Let me dig a little deeper:
No, I'm sorry.
Just nothin', you know.
You've really done it this time, ha, ha.
My give-a-damn's busted.

And here's one for the guys by Dierks Bentley:

How Am I Doin'

It's strange to hear your voice
I did not expect for you to call
You wonder how I'm doin
How I'm holdin up
Since you did me wrong

(chorus)
Well how am I doin' since you did what you done to me?
I can't lie I sometimes cry when I think of how it used to be
I keep my friends with me, I stay busy and I don't get much sleep
Baby, that's how I'm doin since you did what you done to me

Well now wait one minute, I
Failed to mention
Those tears I cried, are tears of joy
Cause' it was no fun there
Under your thumb and
Now that we're done I'm
Gettin' right every night
With every single ever-lovin' girl in sight, so

(chorus)

Well when all my friends heard what a
You know what you were they
Took me out on the town
But then I heard our song and
I dance along but
It felt all wrong cause'
She was sweet, she let me lead
She never took her ever-lovin' eyes off me so

(chorus)

Well I don't know what you were thinkin'
Runnin' round on me
Now you say you're sorry
Well honey I agree...so

How are you doin' since you did
What you done to me
Girl don't lie you know you cry
Cause' you know how good it used to be
Yeah, tell me does the thought of
Losin' my true love make it hard to sleep, baby
How are you doin' since you did
What you done to me

Yeah how are you doin', now that you know
How I'm doin since you did
What you done to me

Kloe,
You are welcome. When my mom played the song for me it sent chills down my body. And I realize my husband may be gone and is with OW but I have my little miracle right here in my arms.

I have to be strong for her. And my other children.

Just a note to ladyjane -

That song by Jo Dee isn't only for the ladies - it can reflect the sentiments of us guys, too <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />
