Oh, I wish! What sacrifices I would make if we could! ("But tripe is full of protein! Yum!".) What horrors I would endure to make that trip (three kiddos in the back seat asking "Are we there yet?" every ten minutes; having to stop at every Exxon between Texas and MN because the 2 yo isn't totally comfortable with potty training yet. . . the joys!).

*sigh*

I can dream. *grin*

SLH, have you considered a Retrouvaille weekend? Probably one in your area.

I live in the Twin Towns but am going to Iowa on the 16th. If there is any kind of gathering on the 15th or 14th, I'd be very interested in attending!

Hi Aphelion (I love your handle btw),

What is a Retrouville weekend? I've seen the reference but never heard an explanation.

Per your sig: Are you from LA? I lived in Red Stick for 20 years before moving to Texas A&M (I know, I know, an Aggie, LOL) and then Houston, and I do miss aspects of Bayou country! Food, friends, and fishing, for sure!

Geaux Tigers and all that

KMEJ ... you need a partner that you want to fall in-love & staying in-love with. Go and find one

SLH ... Usually MB has 3 weekends.

Loy ... hey, I am a guest ... don't ask me. The only time I see is July 16th night. AT Mall of America ???. You will meet my future SO.

KMEJ -- I've seen your picture -- you will have no problem finding a date if you want one, Honey! Yer purdy!

Or you could just bring the husband, LOL.

RH -- They usually have 3 weekends? Is that every year? I can start saving now, LOL. Putting the kids in a cryogenic state for an entire weekend could be expensive! (Believe me, it would be cheaper than any babysitter that would agree to come to *my* house!).

Here is a link: http://www.retrouvaille.org/

It's pretty good. And, except for the weekend room and food, it's free. They do ask for a donation.

No, I'm not from LA. Deep, rainy, northwest born and bred. Like the trees, I've been here so long I have moss on my north side.

I just like that quote, for now.

BTW, the aerospace company I work for is hiring engineers and IT. Can't find enough mechanical types in fact.

APHELION! Have you stumbled across a few of my posts? Are you a masquerading angel? Do you know how difficult it is to hire on anywhere else in the Aerospace community right now, here in Houston, after Columbia?

Your mentioning that your company is now hiring engineers could be a prayer answered for us. It is time for us to move on.

My H worked as a Machinist for 15 years (9 of them as the Head Machinist in the Aero dept at Texas A&M) and has since worked for a company that did contract work for NASA, as well as Refining jobs, etc. He graduated in Aero but could easily be hired on as Mechanical. Would you consider emailing me your company's info if it is something you think we could benefit from? He could send his resume in pronto.

I can be reached at

stonegatestablesatyahoodotcom

Thanks for the link too; in my haste I almost forgot!

I love Texas and would hate to leave, but I love my husband and marriage more, you know?

"In Louisiana, we're half under water and half under indictment." Sen. David Vitter

Well, I've lived there and I can say it's ALL TRUE, LOL!

And most of them are on the school board, LOL!

One thing I DO NOT miss about LA.

KMEJ - I was waiting for 2.5 years after my Dv to finally found someone "worthy of going to MB weekend with." . A date is easy for you to get ... I second SLH. I dunno about bring your WH while in the fog ... kinnda giving $ away to addict.

SLH ... yeah, usually San Francisco, Mn then Orlando. You won't get the benefit w/o going w/ SO or STBSO. Come to SF ... I will arrange baby sister for you. Do they like to learn rollerskating ? LOL!.

I will be there w/ my GF ... The choices on the registration are ... Single, Married, and Engaged ... where is dating ?.

I am excited ... I am planning to walk around and shop/dine at Great Mall on Saturday. Probably I will gather some MBers from the seminar to go.

What time do you think you'll go to dinner? Looking for a place to eat at the Mall?
Mall of America Restaruants

Maybe you should re-name this post, dinner in MPLS tomorrow?
