am doing a certain low glycemic impact diet...preordered food.

doing well.

down SIX POUNDS in almost 2 weeks.

and feel good.

but I cheat. YES i CHEAT...I AM A CHEATER. he he. this is the only way I cheat at anything.

I had fajitas last night w/a girlfriend from work after a very very stressful day in clinic. our director suddenly put in his notice...and am fearful the department will fall to chaos. and scaredly, I AM THE SECOND BEHIND DIRECTOR WITH MOST EXPERIENCE AND A POWERHUNGRY GUY/FRIEND with sure, less experience, is gunning at the first second after director resigns.

and dealing this week with a maniacal xh...that has chosen to "focus" on making sure my son sleeps 11 hours a day. he's lost his rocker, darth has. from doing drive by's around my neighborhood at "nighttime" to calls all week long when ds is with me. I am ONE OUNCE AWAY FROM GOING BACK TO THE ATTORNEY...can't handle a wacked out xh. ds is now the only tie to him. that and the fact he owes me some more money. he's loosing his grip on me as he's finally "gotten" and obviously he isn't going down without a struggle. you'd think after 2 years remarried/divorced that darth wuold be keeping his nose outta my [censored]...but he doesn't want to. and I keep my boundaries solid. no contact ever unless it's about ds or residual finances.

life's good otherwise.

job secure. position rock solid.

dating is good. dating the cute resident still...when we can have compatible schedules...which is NEVER...

and the xbf is back. announced thursday when he saw me for first time in over 1.5 months, that he wanted to settle down...he said the M word. I blew it off. blew him off last night too...was on call though. still on call this weekend but money's good.

and there's a possible third guy on horizon. asked me out for tonight but alas, I am on call so who knows what.

scary part is I do think I can see myself with either cute resident or xbf.

then xbf2, the p.a. guy, "R", called twice also thursday night (while xbf1 was actually over here making his "case").

My buddy sue said that "heck girl. You are the most confused single girl I know. You aren't confused about work. You got that part down. and being a mom? you really got that down. Just float a while with the guys and when the time's right..your gut will say which guy it is."

but one thing is for sure. I am doing ok. just lots of stress (job, the xh). ds is doing awesome though.

and also stress of a possible move later this summer. I want to get everything soon in order so that I can get the move going. been looking at houses. and downsizing yet again. but in a nicer finished out house (am gonna save up so I can angle for the granite counter tops)and one with lots of fun stuff for my ds to do there and make new friends for him...

I just gotta stick to the darn diet!

will be going to my medical society's convention in april at the beach...one I used to be prez of.

I am feeling tad foggish now...am wanting SOOOO BAD to look really hot in new bikini I just bought.

my sis owns two dress boutiques in alabama, has a bet with me. she and bro in law say that if I am back at 115 by april, they'll buy a whole spring/summer wardrobe for me!

so I am going to try like heck.

need diet buddy.

really really bad.

thanks for listening to my sitch/update/vent/stuff.

I must admit, I don't know much about N-system, but may peak at it.

I think I need to concentrate more on the exercise end. While I can always eat better, that part is not the downfall for me, it's fitting in the exercise. I walk quite a bit, am currently in an aerobics class, but need to do a bit more with my membership at the gym.

I was curious as to what you were trying thinking of my OD. I try to be cautious with our meals and encourage her to walk with me. Her metabolism is non-existent for the most part, and I'm always hoping for something that I can try to help her.

Thanks for sharing!

I am always willing to have a diet buddy. I have been dieting.. or Shall I say Changing my eating lifesytle since October. I am down 37 lbs so far! But the past week has been bad! I am couting calories and eating healtheir. Now that I have lost some weight I am more active. I turn the music up and dance. That helps with some excercise! Keep up the good work!

Hey, PeaceatLast, what diet, if any, are you on? I keep seeming to gain weight on diets, and this has never happened until this year.

I'm thinking I need to get back to the tried and true of counting calories, eating balanced diets, and avoiding high-fat and processed foods.

That shouldn't be too hard right???? YUCK! I hate dieting. But I hate gaining weight more, I think.

I'm taking a little different approach to the whole diet thing. Betwixt Turkey Day and Christmas, 12 pounds magically jumped up and lodged in my mid section putting me at the second heaviest I've ever been in my life. The week I found that out I also shot the top button on my favorite pants across the room. Granted my frame could hold a lot more weight, this isn't healthy weight to say the least...

That being said, I ain't quite ready for that whole exercise thingy, but I'm planning it for the summer. SO why not quest to be the heaviest I've ever been. Currently 6'/196 (Peachy I think you saw me about 36 pounds lighter), I think that puts me about 12 pounds under my big belly billy weight of the past. So who's with me, let's all gain 12 pounds. My goal is to do it through March and April. Then this summer, I'll see about changing that spare tire.

In all seriousness, I don't mind my weight but I hate where it all decided to gather....lol...

I joined E diets to get me started. I followed thier plan pretty strictly at first. But now I am going along on my own. The first two weeks were horrible. But now I am not having a hard time sticking to the calorie intake. I think they had me taking in 1500 calories a day. As I lost the weight I gained more energy and felt better. They split it into 450 calories per meal and 150 calorie snack. The key I think is to find filling foods that fit in that category. I used to do alot of McDonalds ect. Can you believe one Quarter pounder w/ chees has 550 calories! That is not with a drink and fries. Hope that was helpful!

Oh man!
The minute you tell me I can't eat something, that's what I want!! I'm not a sweets eater, don't do drive through and I eat pretty healthy. Am a VERY healthy person over all. My thing is the exercise over the winter - I mean lack thereof!
My pants are telling me they can't take much more!
So I'd like to do something... but how are we doing this? I need someone to be accountable too. I just started walking again yesterday and am planning on buying a exercise bike this weekend with tax refund. So how's it gonna go?
I'll just stick to my regular diet, as I know once I start exercising again my cravings for bad stuff goes down.
What's up with the mid-late thirty's and my body not reacting like it used to?! ARGH!!

I can't diet. I am the worst at it. Can't find the time to exercise. Somehow I've gotta lose about 8-10# before the wedding/reception and I think the only thing I can do is stop eating. shocked

Hey there - I'll jump in. I'm doing really good with mine, though I too am trying hard not to call this a diet, because this HAS to be a complete change of lifestyle for me.

I dieted a lot in past years, and every time I did, I ended up gaining back over twice whatever I lost. I was always heavy anyway, and over the last part of the marriage, I gained quite a bit of weight. Then, during the divorce, at first I lost a little, then gained even more.

So, I started out with a whole lot to lose - still do, it's just not as much now. I'm on a medically supervised plan through the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center, and it is about completely changing the way you eat. The plan is high protein, low fat, low (practically no) sugar, and low carbs, though carbs through vegetables are allowed and actually part of the plan. At least, for what part of it you eat regular food. They use supplements for all but one meal on the part of the plan I'm on now, called "Living Lite." The supplements are mostly from Medifast, though they have some from another company too, and we can also get some from other places, such as some of the South Beach cereal bars. Also, I don't always do a lot of the supplements - I can have regular food instead, as long as I substitute food that has the same basic calorie/fat/protein/carb values as my supplements would have had.

And the results? I've been doing this since the end of September (20 weeks as of last Thursday), and have lost just short of 70 pounds now. And I'm really not having much trouble sticking to this eating plan at all. I'm not having too many cravings for food not on the plan - it isn't bothering me. Which is close to amazing, considering my calorie intake right now is between 800 and 1000 calories a day.

The funny thing is - as well as this is working for me, I wouldn't just start telling everyone that THIS is THE diet. After many years of trial and error, I think I've finally found what works for MY body. I think the problem is that everyone is different, and the trick is, finding what works for each individual.

But boy, am I glad to finally find one that works for me!

Oh, and I have added in exercise too, but only over the last three weeks or so - until then, I just didn't have the strength to yet. Now I'm doing water walking/jogging at the pool twice a week for 30 minutes each time. In another week or two I plan to bump that up to 3 times a week. That may not sound like much, but for me it's a lot, considering I'm starting from nothing.

Well I gained back 7 in the past 3 weeks but lost 3 of it this last week. So I am trying to keep it up! Was even good w/ my best friend (who is female) we are both single so we spent Valentine's day together! It is nice to have best friends!

Keep it UP or shall I say down!

Tami
